Mercer County Chimney Services

We recently hired Mercer County Chimney sercices to rescure bird in the chimney. However, the work was not completed & we were charged for services that were not performed. All we got was some pictures which are of no use. We still hear the birds chirp. When we reached out again, no efforts were made to address the issue. We ended up paying 325$ for nothing... Will not recommend their service. Will never hire them again.

They were timely, and finished in one day. Very professional, and all were friendly.

I initially contacted the man approximately a year before because the cap had blown off the chimney and I wanted it repaired. He accessed the situation and advised me what the cost to repair the chimney would be. It was very high due to the age of the home and the condition of the chimney. I was only using the chimney for the water heater and he advised me it might be a better solution to change the type of water heater so that the venting would no longer be necessary. That was the solution i chose and after having the plumbing and electrical work done I contacted Mercer Chimney again and within a few days he came, completed the job and even gave me a heads up about the condition of the roof, which I would have never been aware of if he had not alerted me. I was not only pleased with the work done but was impressed with the honesty and professionalism of the service man.

Chimney work has unknown expectations and your at the mercy of the service provider. Mercer was competitive in price, professional, on time, and came when they said. The men respected my house by wearing booties. The owner, Raymond, was always friendly and nice. His assistance Brad and Kevin were helpful. I was selling my house and Raymond and his crew were very accommodating for us and the buyers. This proved difficult at times but the men handled the situation in a great manner.

We discovered that our gas fireplace was somehow leaking water into our basement. James from Mercer Chimney came out in freezing temperatures, inspected both my fireplaces (even though I was only having problems with one), took pictures and explained to me what was going on in a way that I completely understood. A prior contractor had installed the wrong caps on my fireplaces, drilling holes through my custom chase covers and voiding the lifetime warranty. Water was entering as a result. I had another chimney contractor come out to look at the unit before James who told me the same thing. However, that contractor would not perform the repair unless I paid $350 for a complete inspection which would not be creditable towards any service ultimately performed unless it was a complete fireplace replacement. James recommended that since both chimneys had the same problem both should be replaced. I didn't want to incur the full cost now since the other chimney wasn't leaking. James discussed options with me and I decided to do the "full" job on the leaking chimney and solely replace the cap on the other unit since this was a safety issue. I waited to write this review to ensure that there were no leaks - one very wet February later, not a drop of water in sight. James is very pleasant and professional. Mercer Chimney is now my contractor of choice for all my chimney needs.

I was impressed with their promptness at every stage of the process: estimating, contract delivery, obtaining the permit, and most importantly for the work itself, all occurred as scheduled. They handled all the details, and met every promise they made to me. Work was completed in a very professional manner. You can tell when a contractor takes pride in his work. And by the way, I had never heard of them before, only learning about this contractor through Angie's List.

They were very honest and gave us a reasonable estimate for services we needed or requested. We had a liner put in and needed the base of the chimney rebuilt. They explained everything and worked to get this done before the winter weather set in. I would recommend this company because they are honest, reasonably priced and we are very pleased with the quality of work done.

They were good. I'm totally happy with them.

Their inspection report found that the crown was cracked and they suggested installing a crown seal. Also they suggested applying a chimney saver also. Everything went very well and I had no problems. They were professional and on time.

on time, reasonable price, professional evalution, quotes for necessary repairs are also reasonable. the guy is also nice. removed the antenna from the chimney with no extra charge.

I was absolutely impressed with the guy's integrety and honesty and would recommend him to anyone, friends or family, and I will absolutely hire him to do the work on my home.

They were very clear in how much the service would cost up front over the phone. They arrived on time and put booties on over their shoes. It was a two man team. One man on the roof took photos of the flue and showed me precisely what was wrong. They emailed me the pictures.The other fellow cleaned the firebox with brushes and vacuum. The whole process was over in less than an hour. They were able to give me quotes on repairs. They gave me price on installing a wood burning insert as an alternative to fixing our fireplace/chimney. They have been easy to reach on the phone with my questions and gave a list of references when asked. I am still in the process of deciding of what would be appropriate solution,
