Magic Roofing & Siding, Inc.

We signed a contract with Magic Roofing and Siding to install a new metal roof for us back in March 2022. We deposited $5000 as a security deposit that they said they needed for the specialty product of metal. They first said that it would take 8 weeks to schedule, 8 weeks came and nothing. Then they said they would contact us in June 13 and that came no one contacted us. I have been trying to get a hold of someone there to get our money back, I have left emails and phone calls and messages still nothing. I would like to get our money back.

Responsiveness Well where should I start. Our roof was done on September 10th. Friday. Like many others we also had a problem where apparently the shingles we chose were not available. In any event we picked the second color and the roof was done. While they were finishing up my wife told them kindly make sure all the nails are cleaned up especially where we park on the cement area. We have two rather expensive cars and the tires are quite expensive. Long story short she watched the guy use a blower to blow off the cement area. Little did I know at some point over the weekend I got a nail in my rear tire. So on Monday morning I was stranded. I called every place that sells tires around me nobody had this tire. 245/40 R20 continental sport contact 6. Run flat I ended up calling the dealer where I bought the car Princeton Volvo which was about an hour drive from my house. They did not have the tire in stock but could put it on in a few days. I also tried to reach out to magic roofing countless times and of course there was no response. This went on for about 7 days. The car was taken to Volvo and they gave me a loaner car thankfully. About a week and a half later I spoke to the owner of magic roofing... Luis.. 609-209-6047. What an arrogant POS. Apparently it's my fault that they didn't return my call and I had to take my car to the dealer which was basically a 2-hour round trip. And I had to be without my car for 3 days waiting for the tire. Not once did I get a call back from magic roofing. Each time I would call somebody would always say I'll get back to you.. to this very day I have not received one call back. I had to call the owner myself. Meanwhile I have found six roofing nails currently on my front cement parking area including the one that was buried in my tire. Luis says they did two magnet sweeps but I find this very hard to believe. Like I said my wife watched the one guy blow the front area off with a blower. I have cameras around the whole house and didn't see anybody magnet sweeping anything. And he also thinks that I'm trying to get over on him because the tire costs $417 He says he could have got it for a hundred bucks. Yet they never returned my phone call. Yes Luis I just felt like wasting half of my day on Monday September 13th. Trying to scam you out of 400 bucks. The bottom line is you're not paying me a dime You're paying me for the money I put out of my pocket already. The receipt from Princeton Volvo was sent to you. So long story short he said he's going to send me a partial payment for my tire. I told him that was unsatisfactory and I expected full payment for the tire or I would be forced to take him to court. On the phone he said go ahead take me to court everybody takes me to court... But I don't understand is why nobody's posting reviews for that. I'm guessing from his arrogant approach that I'll see Luis in court. I'm just warning anybody out there. Beware. Just like some other reviews they do the job swiftly but if you ever have a problem good luck... Read all the other reviews. I would never use this company again and I would not recommend them to anybody at any time. This is not the way you treat a customer. I own a business here in New Jersey and I couldn't even think about treating a customer in this manner. The car is a polestar 2 The tires from polestar are 417.00 Not to mention my gutters were broke as they tossed my satellite dish off the back while the cable was tangled around my gutter. Mangling up the gutter in the back and pulling it away from the house.

Luiz (magic roofing) was great. Called them in the morning and they showed up in the late afternoon to repair roofing damage caused overnight by a squirrel. Prompt, courteous and fixed the problem!

From the first phone call, I knew this company was the best fit for me. I ‘interviewed’ three other companies before Magic Roofing and out of all of them, I felt most comfortable with them. They were very professional, did a wonderful job, and clean up afterwards was exceptional. Thank you for the wonderful service and I will be recommending to anyone who asks!

Magic roofing was wonderful! No complaints. The team worked hard and the roof looks great! I would definitely hire Magic Roofing again...next time siding!

Nov. 3rd- Received an estimate From Anthony (salesman) 11/4,11/9, 11/16,Asked follow up questions by email From Anthony 11/16 Received a contract From Anthony Bate 11/16 Signed and emailed contractFrom Anthony 11/30 Unannounced visit by owner to measure for windows 12/17 Emailed to ask for a timeline ANthony stated he would check 1/6/21- Emailed again because I had heard nothing. Anthony stated he would check with the office again. 1/8/21 Emailed again because I heard nothing. 1/28/21 Received the owner’s Phone number and texted He called me and stated 3- 6 months. He would call me with an update 2/4/21 Texted him because I did not receive a call 3/19 Finally received a call and he stated that the crew would be out Monday for the install 3/22 9:45 Texted noone showed up 10:45 Texted noone showed up- Owner responded he was testing his workers for COVID. Stated I understood but my wife was home waiting instead of going to work. He sent me the positive test result (HIPPA) 4/2 Texted if he had a timeline. Stated Next Friday 4/9 4/9 No call No show AGAIN 10:22 PM He texted “Monday” 4/12 Text him at 7:20 Rain. He stated tomorrow 4/13 No call no show Text at 10:04 He text back window guy sick s o we have to be there on Saturday. 4/16 Text and called just to make sure they were coming. A woman in the office confirmed. 4/17 They came for the installation. They were short 2 of the 15 windows. 1 window was the wrong size. 1 window was broken. Installer stated that he told the owner what was needed. Stated it would be a week. Texted the owner. No response. 5/3 Called the office and asked for a timeline ( 2 weeks have passed) 5/10 Called the office and left a message because I did not receive a call back. 5/17 Called the office and left a message because I did not receive a call back. Placed a complaint with the BBB. 5/18- Received 7 calls before 8:30 in the morning. Owner said I was dishonest for complaining about him because I owe them money. I have not received a bill and they have not completed the job. At 12:00, I received a call that the windows came in (miraculously after my complaint to the BBB). They stated all the work would be completed tomorrow. 5/19- I had to take them to ½ the windows to show them where there was sloppy work done. They did not bring a replacement for the window that was broken. They have to come back AGAIN.

While the roofing installation went fine the contractors removed our Direct TV dish and disposed of it. They said to get a new one installed and they would reimburse me for it. It required me making a special trip to our vacation home. I sent them the bill 2 months ago and despite numerous calls I have yet to be reimbursed. They tries to blame it on the salesman.

I spent weeks trying to research Professional Roofers & decided to look on Angie's List. Magic Roofers & Siding responded to my inquiry .I was very new & inexperienced with a job as big as the one I needed done. Magic Roofers answered every question & walked me through the entire process. The men on the job were Professional & kind. The Roof on the garage & home were done in a timely manner.The new roof makes the home look so beautiful .The price was very reasonable. What I appreciated out of the whole experience was that the owner of the company took time out of his morning to call me personally to ask if i was satisfied with the installation. I own multiple homes & will be using their Company for all of my roofing & siding needs.

Do not trust Magic with any of your roofing needs. They did some work under a gutter around a downspout and left major gaps in the wood. This created space for animals to get into the wood work. When I contacted Magic they tried to claim they never even replaced the section I called about and refused to come fix it. After about 30 mins of the owner telling me he was going to come beat me up he said he wouldn’t fix it unless I had the gutters replaced. It had nothing even to do with the gutters. Horrible service, very rude owner... best to stay away.

They were great. They walk all they long and they were very pleasant. They cleaned up very well. They were fantastic roofers.

Excellent, I know about roofing and they did a very professional job, no hidden cost, did a wonderful job cleaning up, no damages to any plants.

The roof they put on my kitchen looks very good, and I assume the workmanship of the actual framing is good. However, the damage that was done to the inside of my kitchen is unacceptable and indicates a complete lack of regard for things not directly related to the job at hand but affected by it. Examples: After the first day of work, when the tore down the old roof and finished the framing for the new roof, I came home from work to find my kitchen covered in dirt, old tar paper, nails and chunks of wood from when they tore the old roof off. I had to clean my entire kitchen, filling half a garbage bag with the debris. Second, my kitchen has a drop ceiling. Some of the tracks of the ceiling were wired to the original rafters. When they took off the old roof, they obviously disconnected the wires. When they re-framed the new roof, no attempt was made to re-wire my ceiling. When I showed the owner, Luis, he tried to tell me that it was not in the contract. I told him that since he "broke" my ceiling, it was his responsibility to fix it. He finally agreed to do it. Three days later, his guys came out and re-wired my ceiling tracks. However, in the process, they damaged some of my tracks by leaving them noticeably bent, and damaged several of the tiles. The ceiling is a 18 year old drop ceiling, so finding tiles to match the existing tiles is impossible, and since I no longer wanted this company in my house, I had to replace the tiles in my whole kitchen. I just finished the job yesterday. Then, last night, while sitting at my kitchen table, I happened to glance up at one of my cabinets and noticed a space between the top of the cabinet and the wall, which was not there before. Either while they were re-framing the roof, or fixing my ceiling, they pulled the top of the cabinet away from the wall so it is no longer attached at the top and leaning forward. I will now have to figure out a way to re-attach this cabinet so it does not fall into the kitchen. I find this company to be careless when doing their work. The work they contract for looks good, but expect to have to fix other things surrounding their job because of this carelessness. I would never use Magic again, and if asked by anyone, I would strongly recommend against using them.

The company installed a beautiful full system roof, on time and cheaper then 7 other bidders, I will recommend them to all of my friends and family.

Great crew great job. The quality of the shingles that they used was better than the materials from 20 years ago.

Luis, the owner, was great. Came and did the job, cleaned up. Highly recommend him.

I called them and got their cell phone.  Their salesman was very good.  I have had a hard time contacting them since I purchased the service.  He is making me chase down the permit for the roof and is giving me the run around.

This large job went well, had some issue me to complexity and in the end turned out to be any excellent job. Lars and Nowl were responsive and dealt professionally with problem that arose.

roof went well but new attic fan will not shut off. It is a simple thermostat problem but after numerous unanswered calls to Magic Roofing the problem still exists. If you use this company make sure everything is done right the first time because they will not return to fix problems.

Roof - done beautifully well and gutters guards also. Luis was crew were very easy to work with and attended to all my concerns. They went over and above.

The crew was on time, worked very hard, cleaned up and did a great job. I am going to get an estimate for new windows.

Luis responded to initial contact quickly and each time I contacted him. Noel and his crew were very professional and did a quick and excellent job. They cleaned up all around the area very thoroughly. I was very impressed and would recommend them.

Top notch quality and service from beginning to end.  Luis went out of his way to make sure we were happy.

Great work fast workers my home looks new after their work helped us ti select the color with the virtual design software very happy.
