E & C Landscaping

Our first impression was that this guy was professional and interested in doing a great job for us. He seemed very nice. But we were very disappointed with the service we got. The mulch was spread very thin in some places while adequately thick in others. They didn't bring enough the day they were here and told us they'd bring more and finish. It took them weeks to get back with that. The edging was not done very well. We had some very invasive plants we asked them dig out. It turned out they only pulled out what they could easily - not getting the roots because they came back quickly. The most frustrating thing was they cut back all my peonies except for one that obviously had buds so they did not bloom!  (I'm hoping they will be okay this spring.) And worse, when I pointed this out to him - I was calm and tried to be nice about it - he responded with "What do you want me to do about it?" An apology and acknowledging his mistake would have been nice! I can accept that his helpers maybe didn't know the plant - although as a "professional landscaper" I would expect he would know his plants and instruct his help - but to be so indignant was unacceptable. We trusted the one review on Angie's List when we hired him, but will never use him again or recommend him to anyone and never rely on someone who hasn't had multiple reviews!

After living in the house 18 years and having hired many landscapers to do the same task over time, we have never been so impresed with the finished job. The took 2 days and we could'nt be more pleased with the results. E & C was punctual, very tidy & checked with us numerous times to make sure we were pleased with the placement of mulch/stone. They were true gentlemen. We could not have done a better job ourselves. So very happy we found them. A+++
