I first contacted the authorized/official Wolf service company in my area (they are also on Angie's List), but I found them to be rather rude and couldn't fit me in for another week.

I contacted Frank and explained the problem.  He indicated that he does not generally work on Wolf appliances, but he would be willing to make the trip and attempt to diagnose.  Frank arrived in the time window he promised, and though he was unfamiliar with his particular oven, he was able to think his way through the problem, diagnose the issue, and replace the part.

Response from Appliance Tech by Frank Lecato
"Sorry for the any misunderstanding , but I told [member name removed] the total estimate was around $400 or $500. The breakdown is as follows: $180 labor ; $150 - $250 for parts ; $15 shipping = $345 to $445 . And with sales tax, an estimated grand total of between $370 and $480. I also told him ALL costs were APPROXIMATE meaning it could be a little more or a little less . One must also realize that ‘Big Ticket’ items such as main computer controls, and motors etc., always require 2 trips. Because of there size, costs, and variations stocking such items on ones truck is unproductive . Also the labor includes diagnosis time, on the first trip, and the part installation ( labor) on the second trip. It is also in the nature of the business that multiple trips are costly. Hopefully this will clear things up."

Frank arrived on time and went right to work to look at why our clothes dryer was not tumbling the clothes.  He quickly diagnosed that one of the motors, the starter motor, was not functioning.  He then told us the bad news and then the good news.  Bad News:  this is a costly repair that would not be worth doing.  It is better to just buy a new dryer.  Good News:  Frank showed us that he could get the drying to tumble again by just helping it along to get it started.  Once started, the second motor kicked in and kept it tumbling.  In fact, we have not had a problem with it starting up ever since he did this.
I was thankful that he showed us how to get around having to buy a new dryer right away.  Months have passed and the dryer continues to work with out a problem.
I paid Frank the agreed upon price to come to the house.  Unfortunately, I do not remember what that was.
Frank was efficient, and informative.  He did what he needed to do for us and I did not feel that he took advantage of us.  I would call Frank again for a similar repair.

Frank is the best. He arrived within the specified time frame, diagnosed the problem and did the repair all within a reasonable amount of time. I don't know what the average pricing is for labor and parts, especially on a Saturday, but I suppose his pricing was fair for the work done. What I liked best? Frank took the time to explain the situation and made me feel comfortable... priceless. He also saw an issue with my dryer duct that he believed I could replace on my own. Frank told me what to by and exactly what to do. I went to a big box homestore, bought the parts and replaced the duct, no problem. Thanks Frank.

This involved taking the freezer section of the fridge apart and cleaning out some stuff and then putting it back together again. Not a trivial job.

Very friendly and respectful, ordered and replaced valve in short order. Would definitely call again. A secondary problem with the maker showed up a couple of days after the first, and Frank fixed it at no cost to us. We also hired him ten years ago to replace a broken window in our oven door. It was not a commonly available part, but Frank managed to locate one at a reasonable price. We would not hire anyone else for help with our appliances.

Called Monday, made appointment for Tuesday. Frank called Tuesday said he had an afternoon cancellation and could come an hour early. Drove over to my mom's house and he arrived shortly. Ran a few tests on the dryer, diagnosed the problem, figured out the cost to fix. He gave me a small discount on the price. I said OK.seems fair. Frank went out to the truck got the parts and everything was buttoned up and working in about a half hour. Nice guy would def. use again and would recommend to others

Unfortunately, the appliance was deemed not worth repairing. However,
Frank followed up with phone calls several times, days later, after researching
the various problems to confirm his assessment. Very honest and generous
with his time.

The belt that turns the dryer drum had snapped. When I called, it happened that Frank had had a cancellation and was there within the hour. He didn't waste any time and got right to work. The work was done quickly and efficiently. The only thing I wasn't happy about was that I had wanted him to replace the washing machine hose strictly as a precaution since he was there, but he said the valve was rusted frozen and would have to be replaced by a plumber.
Response from Appliance Tech by Frank Lecato
"Shut valves ( faucets ) can only be replaced by a licensed plumber. Had the valve been operable, I would have happily replaced the hoses for her, after all I had the hoses right on my truck."

I found Frank's company highly rated on Angie's list. He is located right up the road from my house. I made a reservation on Sunday afternoon. I thought I'd get an answering machine or service when I called. Instead, Frank answered. He took the information down very professionally and gave me a choice of two, four-hour periods on a Monday -- noon to four or 1 p.m. to five. He listened closely to my description of the problem. On the day of the service call, he called me just before his arrival and asked that the dryer be turned on and running because, with the problem i described, running the dryer before he looked at it would speed his diagnosis. He came when he said he would. He diagnosed the problem quickly, and quoted a price estimate. The estimate was exactly what he quoted. He had the problem repaired and the bill ready in less than 45 minutes. The dryer works better than when it was new. He left a card in case we have more appliance problems. He will get the call for my appliance repairs from now on. You never expect a repair person in New Jersey to provide service as good as he gave.

They got here very soon, he seemed to know what he was doing and there wasn't any question as to what the issues were as far as he was concerned and the appliance worked like a charm 30 minutes after he was gone.

Very responsive to initial call. Provided a 4 hour time window. Called 30 minutes prior to arrival. Arrived on time, during the early part of the 4 hours. Explained the problem, how it would be repaired and what the cost would be. Made the repair and thoroughly tested it.

We called about a washer that would not spin out the water. The making of the appointment was very professional and the follow up was great including calls to confirm and give us an update on his arrival time. Upon arrival Frank was easy to talk to and very informative about what he was looking at and what might be the problem. As it turns out we could not reproduce the problem but Frank gave us next steps and advice on how to proceed should the problem recur. Wish all service providers were as professional and informative.

Mr Lecato came on the day and at the time promised to fix my very frosty frost-less freezer. He quickly determined that the problem was a heat sensor that had gone bad, preventing the defrost cycle from running. Once we got the blocks of ice fully melted (we made a pretty good team!), he replaced the sensor and my freezer and refrigerator are both working as good as new. I would not hesitate to refer Mr. Lecato to anyone who is having problems with a major appliance.

Had great communication from Frank. Gave me time period of arrival between 1 pm and 5 pm and also called a couple of times to give me update on arrival time and let me know he was on his way over. Spent about an hour fixing my machine--problem ended up being some damaged electrical wires. Price seemed fair; he told me somewhat more expensive to repair stackable washer/dryer combo units. Moved unit over a bit for me to permit better efficiency (dryer air duct cramped). Cleaned up mess when finished. Friendly demeanor and a good overall experience.

Frank is a nice guy. I always felt comfortable having him working in the house. If he's going to be late because of a previous call, he'll call you and keep you aware of what time to expect him.

I was very happy with him even though he was not able to fix the machine. He told us that it would have cost as much or more to fix the machine as it would cost to buy a new one so he made a recommendation that we were really better off to get a new machine so I appreciated his honesty very much. He came out immediately and I will use him again in the future.
