The crew showed up and I explained again what I wanted done. I made it clear that I wanted all the weeds pulled up by the roots and not just cut off, also, pre-immergent weed killer put down and a thick layer of mulch. They took a few hours to do this job, but spend a considerable time laying on my front lawn, not doing anything. I assumed it was their lunch break. They completed the work and intially it looked fine. However, after only one week, I had weeds coming up again, in exactly the same places as they had previously been. Obviously, they had not pulled up the weeds by the roots, or put weed killer down. They had just pulled of the tops of the weeds, or cut them with a weed wacker. I called Santos and complained about the quality of work. I had just moved into this house from a home where I had over an acre of property and most of it lawn and beds, so had worked with landscapers for many years, and was well aware of what needed to be done to keep the weeds at bay for a considerable time. Santos sent a single person back out to my house about 5 days later to correct the situation. I again explained fully, that the mulch needed now to be removed, the weeds pulled up by the roots, pre-immergent weed killer put down and the mulch put back. The guy that came said he understood. He did not do what I asked. Again, within a two week period, all the weeds were pushing through the mulch again. I suspect that Santos does not want to pull up weeds by the roots, as they tried to sell me a monthly maintenance program for $125.00 per month, to come back and 'maintain' the weeds. I know this is not necessary. If the work had been done properly, weeds would not have grown back so quickly. I would never use this is company again.
