Everything was great! From the day of his original estimate, explanation of the required work, and the scheduling of the entire job. He started first thing in the morning and worked on the walkway for the next few days until completed. No mixing of jobs, splitting days, not finishing on time here! He and his crew removed the old pavers, staked out the new path and starting on preparing for the new pavers. I was surprised by the amount of work required for the new pavers! First the loose soil was removed, then the ground was tamped down multiple times to ensure a solid surface. A new gravel base for the pavers needed to be installed which was laid in layers of a few inches then tamped down to make it solid. Again, I was amazed to see the amount of time and effort they placed in just the preparation alone. After the gravel base was leveled they added the sand which the pavers will lay on, this was screeded as put in to make it level. Now the pavers are placed on the sand, first they checked everything then tried out the 3 stone pattern that I had chosen on the grass to have me make sure I was happy with it before installation. I'm now thinking well at least this part will be a breeze since everything else was so hard but this is now the real hard part of aligning all the stones while being laid, checking the lines so everything is straight and keeping track of the patterns matching properly. Everything was done to perfection and I'm thrilled that it was completely quickly and with such professional preparation.
