The Lester Glenn Subaru store first opened its doors on Route 37 in Toms River in 1992, however, the Lester Glenn Family of Dealerships has been serving New Jersey since 1956. ....brought my 06 Subaru up from Florida....needed an oil change...first time at this dealership....after waiting two hours for the oil change they informed me they had to do manufacturer recommended service updates (although I bought this used car from a Subaru dealer in Florida two months before)...also informed my the car had a blown head gasket that would require a repair costing about $1500....my first and last time for these clowns.....STAY AWAY

I received a recall and upgrade letter from Subaru (The Company was very punctual and efficient about it.) LG Subaru (Kathy) got me an appointment within the following week. Suggested the Oil change because <1000 miles before it was due and I have problems getting there.
They gave me a ride home instead of the available loaner because I didn't need it and the courtesy inspection is always free. Then they picked me up when the car was finished.

My experience with them was mediocre. I'm in a special program so that wasn't a problem. The salesman was no longer there. They're not talking. I'm happy with the car basically. But i think they put all these special things in them like the mats for the car and some of the things I said that were important to me like the satellites. When they got the car ready, it wasn't there. They're not returning phone calls either. Once they get the money, they kind of washed their hands off. They pressured me into buying something I didn't want like the protection program that they have. I mentioned specifically that I don't want to sit there and listen to all these because I wasn't buying anything extra but they did it anyway. I said "no." I've been dealing with the manager and I've been going back and forth with them. I had to call them to find out about my plate. They called me and I checked my messages everyday. The salesman was good. He was a nice guy. He was doing his job but basically, he was easy to deal with. The price was okay. I got most of what I wanted in the car. I don't know yet how the service department is.

Steer clear. We went there to purchase a vehicle after being quoted a price over the phone. When we arrived, we test drove the vehicle then sat with the salesperson to finalize the deal, checkbook in hand. We drove 40 minutes to get there. Our salesperson was very inexperienced, but courteous, so he had to keep getting up to check with the person I spoke with on the phone, Dan. He came back with a price that was much higher than was quoted. When I explained the deal again, Dan came over, with the paper that had the exact deal we had discussed and told me he was willing to do us a favor and give us this deal for the car we test drove. At first, I was happy as that was what I expected, until he told me he meant the EXACT car we test drove, with a dent and mileage. I asked if he would give us the deal for a non-damaged, new car, and his demeanor went changed drastically as he told me I'd have to wait 12-16 WEEKS! This was after the salesperson told us that they get new colors of this car daily and the woman on the phone told us they have loads of inventory. When I then told him that this was clearly a bait and switch, without exaggeration, he flipped out, almost ina scary way. He jumped out of his seat and started shouting and my husband said " you've got to be kidding me!" Needless to say, we left in a hurry. I still am shocked by their devious and outrageously unprofessional behavior!
