I contacted Frank and requested that he survey the problem and provide an estimate for repair. He arrived promptly, was courteous and professional. We had an extended conversation about the job, and what he felt needed to be done. The main goal being to find the actual source of where the water was coming in from before any repairs could be considered. Once again, due to the construction of this window, the actual source had escaped detection for over a year.
Due to continuing bad weather at that time of year, he opted to return on another day when it was clear and dry to investigate the possible source. After he determined where he felt it was coming from and affecting a temporary repair, he gave it some additional time to insure that he had found it, which we found later he had.
He returned to start the demolition and subsequently found more extensive damage inside the wall that was hidden from view on first inspection and threatened structural integrity. That necessitated an additional estimate as the cost would be considerably higher.
After pictures were sent to the insurance company of the additional damage and the estimate was amended, a date was set for the actual repair. Both Frank and his wife Carol have decades of experience working with insurance companies, which took more concerns away from my mom and I, and they dealt with all the paperwork and red tape.
The pride that Frank has in his work is obvious. He did am amazing job (under some not-so-great and complicated circumstances) repairing the visible and hidden water damage, moving and replacing baseboard heating units, repairing and piecing hardwood flooring, matching the wall color, painting and repairing the floor in the next room that had also been affected.
He and his wife Carol run this business together and were two of the nicest, most helpful people I have ever encountered. They helped my elderly Mom and I through this process and I will be forever grateful to the both of them especially considering that I had to leave in the middle of the process and return home to another state.
I would recommend FAA highly. They have bolstered our confidence in that there really ARE good, honest, professional and highly experienced companies that can and will get the job done RIGHT the first time. The window no longer leaks, the water damage is gone with no trace of it ever being there, the rooms are back to their original beauty and my Mom and our expectations were met and exceeded.
Frank and Carol-THANK YOU for everything! You both are the best of the best! God bless you and yours!
