Owner Mike White helped us to evaluate and choose the proper system for our very difficult site, and provided a detailed explanation of how the tear-out/install process would proceed. The contract and all communications with the office were easy and hassle-free, and we appreciated the "full package" of having Excavating NJ coordinate all permitting, inspections, and other professionals. Mike W. himself was on site every day during the project, and he and his crew were efficient, professional, and responsive. They restored our property beautifully. We are relieved to have found such a great company to complete such an extensive undertaking, and would highly recommend them.

$18,000
The cost ended up being $3,000 more than initial estimate, that is about 20% more. The communication during the works was poor and the owner was difficult to find by phone or email. I had to call/email several times in order to get responses. However, the office staff was quickly available when it came to soliciting and receiving payments. When I asked to explain to me what the problem was and why this work needed to be done, the contractor sent me a 15-page study on "Why groundwater levels change" full of hydrographs of observation wells and technical terms which was not readily understandable. He told me to read that. Unfortunately at that point, pressed by the urgency of the flooding, I had already signed the contract and had to go with it. I did not get a copy of the township permits, approvals and engineer approval from the contractor for my records. I received several emails from my property management agency lamenting that equipment had been left in the yard during week-ends, that my tenants were furious about the feedback or lack of it that they were getting from the contractor about what was going on and what to expect and for how long. Meanwhile, the contractor was calling me complaining about my tenants' whining attitude. In the end, the field was closed up but the driveway to the yard was damaged during the work. When I asked for a receipt of the total I got the following message: "You have the agreement and the change order along with the amounts charged on your CC. If you need everything on one receipt than I would have to requested from the accountant and he charges $125/hr, I just don't have access to that information." When I asked for at least an email of acknowledgment for the total amount I could keep for record and tax purposes, my e-mail was not returned and I have not heard from them since.
