"I am amazed by this review. First I recieve an "A'" for quality, very happy for this as the work was completed in 1999 so it is still going. As to the rest it was an emergency with water leaking into the panel, I responded very quickly, gave a great price and corrected the problem when I said I would. As I said the work was in 1999, yup quality workmanship, not sure why the other grades."
"Please, before you read my response I ask you to look at this members past reviews of other contractors. 55% (5)A, 9% (1)C, 36% (3)F Includes mine. Then please continue to read my response. I am sure that any of you reading this review would think I went to the customer gave a price, did the work, changed the price and was finished all in the same day. That is quite far from reality. My first meeting with this customer was in November of 2013. At that time we spend over an hour going over the work she was looking to complete. I explained that in the bathroom there may be holes made for the new installation. She said the bathroom was going to be renovated and that would not be an issue. I also told her that I would hook up the vent to the existing fan ductwork. I then gave her a price. No money changed hands. I received a call about 8 months later in June of 2014 where she said she would like to proceed. I told her we should meet again to go over the work due to the lengthy time from the original meeting. We met and I updated pricing to include the additional work (which was a little more than 5 minutes) along with cost increases I have had. We went over again the possible holes along with the duct. She agreed, I told her I would call the following week to schedule the work. She agreed. Again, no money changed hands. I called and we set up the install which was just about two weeks from the day I have her the updated price quote. I did not ask for nor was I given any deposit money. At any time during this period the customer was free to obtain additional quotes or choose someone else to complete the work. I completed the work on June 26, not July 31st as she states, which required a couple small holes in one wall which again she knew might happen. The exhaust vent was tied to an existing duct from a previous install. I used drop clothes where this work was being completed and vacuumed when I finished. At the end of this day after the work was completed I was paid in full. The customer was given a pre printed invoice the day the work was completed. It had the same price ($945.00) that I quoted almost two weeks earlier. The invoice also stated the vent was tied into the existing duct as was planned. The following day I received a call about the hole in the wall along with a crooked plate, I explained this again it was necessary to complete the installation. Again the customer had been made aware of this potential. I went there the next day and adjusted the plate. No other complaints over the past almost three months have been received until this past week when the customer called me. She was extremely vocal allowing me no change to get a word in. The phone then went dead. This review is in such stark contrast to all my other reviews where my communication was commended along with many stating my price was lower than other. This customer was never deceived, had all the opportunity to say no and was fully aware of what would be accomplished. Please read all my past reviews and compare. Thank You for taking the time to read all of this."
It went perfectly. All question were answered correctly and promptly.
I searched Angie's List for an electrician to install a new 4-prong outlet for a new stove I was having delivered a few days afterward, and was in the unenviable position of having to find a RELIABLE electrician with a proven track record in my area who could do the work within a few days.
Doug called me back immediately after my inquiry to him on Angie's List and, although we had a major snowstorm the next day which interfered with everyone's schedules, Doug was fit me in when he said he would the very next day so I could get my new stove delivered on time. He did the work quickly, was very professional and friendly and gave me some advice on an electrical fixture I was having problems with.
Doug charged a very competitive price and did great work. I will ABSOLUTELY call Doug again the next time I need an electrician and will recommend him to friends. I give Doug an A++ for his great level of service.
