DO NOT HIRE THIS GUY. I REPEAT, DO NOT HIRE THIS GUY. This project started out great but turned into a horrible experience. Brian Van Putten Vink made a good sales pitch and came off as extremely knowledgeable of all aspects of construction in the beginning but as time went on...and on...and on, he began to show how inexperienced he is. He is a plumber, not a home builder. He spent ten months (September 2014 to July 2015) working on the main level of the house and the septic and was still unable to deliver a liveable house. He worked with one or two guys at the most each time we went up and the work site was empty by 3p daily. He made a lot of mistakes by NOT LISTENING TO OUR REQUESTS and made a lot of costly mistakes. His home construction skills are horrible and we are currently paying another builder to repair the shoddy workmanship on the deck and front wall facade he replaced. ALL INCORRECTLY CONSTRUCTED. He committed CONSUMER FRAUD by demanding full payment for projects that were not complete and got paid for many projects and did not pay his subcontractors. He left the job on July 1, 2015 because we refused to pay him additional funds he demanded to finish the electric service. He was paid over $20K in unfinished projects and wanted to be paid more. The house was still under construction with dumpsters and he made a big push to do the driveway. The grading cost was $9600 and insisted it had to be done despite my wanting to wait. Turns out he was going to make a $3000 profit as I later found out from the guy who did it. His only interest was to make money off of us. If you search Brian Van Putten Vink on the internet you will find he has a criminal record and was indicted by a grand jury. Of course, he had a reasonable excuse for it and I stupidly bought it. I could go on and on but the most important takeaway from this is DO NOT HIRE THIS PERSON! I AM HAPPY TO DISCUSS MY EXPERIENCE AND PROVIDE SUPPORTING EVIDENCE OF THE POOR CONSTRUCTION IF ANYONE WANTS IT.
