Douglas Automotive did an excellent job repairing my car. I had been rear-ended and the other driver was responsible for the cost. Douglas handled all the paperwork with the insurance company and after the car was repaired I just had to pick it up. The repair did take a little longer than I expected; however when I picked the car up I was very pleased. The car had been detailed and the entire thing was very easy and well done.

The provider did everything except give me a comfort level that the repairs were truly necessary and that they were charging a reasonable amount to do them. I'm sure being they are a high end dealer in a high end town, i could have paid less but until now I have been willing to pay for the convenience and assumption that a higher price is a better guarantee of quality work.
Provider did provide me clear and detailed information about what they proposed was needed.
Next time if I get an estimate that's 10% of the value of the car, I'll rethink the options.

Since recently moving to the area, my husband and I have taken our cars (both VW Jettas) to this dealer for assorted issues. Visits for oil changes were generally uneventful, and only we had a few minor complaints: that the dealership was the crummiest (in terms of appearance and cleanliness) VW dealership we have experienced (surprising, as it's located in Summit). Also, after one visit for an oil change, the engine cover was filthy due to spilled oil which had not been cleaned off (Strike 1). Another visit was to replace the autoglass of the front windshield. When my husband inspected the work once we got the car home, he discovered a deep, straight, approximately 2-3 inch scratch in the paintwork above the front windshield which was NOT there prior to the work performed that day (Strike 2). The last and FINAL time we took our car there was for a check engine light. I dropped the car off at 8 am, and my husband received a phone call late in the afternoon that diagnostics had JUST been performed, and these indicated the glow plugs needed replacement. We told them the glow plugs had only been replaced earlier this year, and recommended they call the previous dealership. When someone from the previous dealership tried to return the call, the receptionist at Douglas informed him in a rude manner that everyone had gone home. When we were told this by the previous dealership, I had ONLY just picked up the car (we were not able to leave the car as I needed it the next day, and Douglas was unable to furnish us with a loaner), and knew this was NOT true. Douglas did finally speak with the previous dealership, confirmed the glow plugs had been replaced in March, and phoned my husband with an estimate of $1200 for the work (checking the glow plugs and furnishing a new harness). My husband decided to take the car back to the previous dealership (3 hours away) for a second opinion. The car was repaired by them for approximately $370 (including diagnostics). The problem was a short in a relay system. We will NEVER go back to Douglas again!

I'd say these guys did a good job on the oil change. The problem I had with these guys is that while my car's oil was being changed they were supposed to provide me a vehicle for my transportation and never did. Another problem I had is that I had trouble reaching them over the phone, but the oil change went OK; I have no complaints about the job they did.
