I can't say enough about Jay Hoff.  His workers did great work which has been commented on by several people who were in the house to work on the attached furnace, he explained how the system worked, and even pointed out and explained other things that we did not understand (the plumbing in out house is fairly complicated).  Nice guy, supervised or did all the work, reasonable price, on time.  Just great.  Hire him.

Our kitchen sink had backed up, and we'd failed to fix it on our own, having a bizarre trap configuration and little expertise.
I called John Hoff and Son Plumbing, as well as another plumber on Wednesday evening. Jay called me back early Thursday morning as I was driving to work, and said he was able to work on the problem within the hour. I was really happy to here this, as we were heading into July 4th weekend and I thought we wouldn't have a sink all weekend; I turned around and went home to meet him.
Jay and Caleb arrived, diagnosed the issue, and explained clearly what my options were based on the possible causes. Caleb did the main work of disassembling the piping under my sink, and clearing the blockage. Jay consulted with me on some possible work on my bath tub and replacing some old pipes. Jay was patient and open with me on costs and concerns, and  had incredibly deep knowledge and experience. Caleb did a fantastic job on the sink, and was patient with my questions. Finally, they corrected the pipe configuration, installing a better trap. All of this was done quickly, and I was very pleased with the final bill.
I plan on hiring John Hoff and Son again for any future plumbing work.

Jay is fantastic. He knows his business. My tank is very large and very expensive. He researched options for other manufacturers. When he was here to give me a quote, he took the time to explain some of the complicated piping we have. The day the work was done, he was here. His crew was professional, extremely knowledgeable and neat. They corrected the awkward piping configuration of the previous tank and ensure that all controls were easily accessed. After, he talked to me about a problem we noticed with the furnace, which is connected to the water tank. He explained what I should ask Petro to do when the came out and why. (We have a service contract with Petro, otherwise I would have seen if Jay could do the repair.)
I had a question about another item while they were here, and they took the time to explain it to me. I will be having them do that repair as well.

Perfectly. Was punctual, and thorough. We had an issue with the water softner a short time later, no idea what caused it but he quickly responded to our call, checked out the entire system, put in some and quot;protective measuresand quot; to make sure it did not occur again. He only used top quality materials and he and his staff are very knowledgeable. We used him to reroute piping in our previous home and he did a great job then as well.

He is an absolutely wonderful plumber. I found him years ago and I have been using him since. I have been using him for over 20 years. He is prompt and he is responsive to problems. He does good work and he charges a fair price. He has put a bathroom in where there was not one. I use him all the time.
