I called Don at D and B Electric on a Friday, he showed up the next day and was able to quickly diagnose the problem.
He replaced the dimmer switch and reconnected the light and can.

I called Don and he called me the next day and set up an appointment to take a look at the work and give me an estimate. I felt his cost estimate was reasonable. He was happy to answer many questions before I awarded him the job.
On the day of the agreed work he came in on time and started promptly. He moved the junction boxes and neatly patched the old holes using some super cool dry wall patching technique. He was only happy to show me the technique, which I really appreciated. The light fixture was a tricky install and he intelligently left the wires loose enough for us to adjust according to our taste.
We initially only wanted three (3) recessed light cans with incandescent bulbs. Don installed them and we felt we needed one more over the cooking range. Don had no issues with the last minute change and went over to fetch the raw materials. He also brought an LED insert, which he was going to install in his house, to show us the difference between incandescent vs. LED. We were sold. He showed me how to switch from incandescent to LED so that I could make the switch myself. Sure enough, I went to the store and bought the LED inserts and did it myself the same evening.
Throughout the installation I was asking Don questions and he was only glad to educate me. Don was professional, courteous, and knew what he was doing. I was only happy to write him the check after everything was done.
I will be calling Don for more installations we have planned in our new house.
