In Sept, 2013, we contracted with Sussex County Glass to install 7 small windows in our new facility in Sparta, NJ. We did not know this company but were told by our architect that this Sussex County Glass had the special window frames for our building and had had them for 12 years (the previous owners never had the project finished). We decided this would be the best and quickest way to get the windows installed. We contracted with Sussex County Glass on Sept. 18, 2013. At this time, we issued a check for $1170 which was 50% of the project cost. We were advised that it would take about 2-3 weeks for the glass to come in and then they would schedule the installation. In early November, after many weeks of no contact from from anyone at Sussex County Glass, we called. At that time I spoke with the owner, Chett. His demeanor on the phone was highly condescending. He kept calling me "Dear" but not in a nice way. He claimed that I just didn't understand how busy he is. He said he would get back to me. After two weeks of not hearing from him, I again called. Same thing - 5 times over the course of 2-1/2 months. Our CG also called him a few times. Nothing. Earlier this week I went to another glass company that we know and that I have used personally at my home on several occasions. They are a highly reputable company. They called Sussex County Glass and offerred to buy the frames & window glass from them and do our installation. They would have it done in a week. Sussex County Glass's owner would not give them an answer other than he "would have to think about it." That was three days ago. No call from anyone at Sussex County Glass to us or to the other company. At this point I feel we are stuck. I am writing to Angie's list to help others avoid falling into this same situation. This is just not acceptable. No one should have to go through this treatment when they are making a purchase of goods or service!
Description of Work: Sussex County Glass accepted our purchase order (and payment) for them to perform a service which 5 months later they still have not performed.
