Auto Spa & Discount Rent-A-Car

Good listener, diagnosis and repair fixed all the problems. Car has been running great for a week now. Rental was clean, reliable and reasonable. Family members have been using Auto Spa for many years and I would recommend them to anyone in the Sparta area.

My wife and I have used Auto Spa exclusively for all our auto maintenance and repair needs for over ten years. They explain in detail exactly what they are going to do, why they suggest doing it, and even offer advice about possible less costly alternatives if any seem feasible. Ed has more than once taken time to explain to us why our car did not need work that we thought it might require (thereby passing up a chance to make more money from us). He is extraordinarily knowledgeable and enthusastic about automobiles, and clearly loves his work. He has at times spent hours searching among his contacts for a lower price on a component needed for the job at hand, which has saved us literally hundreds of dollars at times. He also dives into his reference manuals and other resources before undertaking anything but the most routine job, to ensure that he has the latest information. Estimates are free, very clearly explained, and always have been quite accurate. If the cost will be more than a small amount over the original estimate, the customer is contacted before the work continues. Auto Spa's estimates are carefully thought out and explained, and the final cost is very rarely much more than the estimate - and at times it been has been lower! The staff is extremely low-pressure about suggesting anything they think might be good to consider doing/buying. In addition to repairs, Auto Spa rents cars and vans. The vehicles are used, not purchased new, and the reasonable rental prices reflect this. Every vehicle that they rent is inspected and maintained by the Auto Spa staff. I have rented cars and vans at times from them, and have been completely satisfied. It should be mentioned that Auto Spa is not a large or fancy-looking operation. The important things are that they do first-class work at fair prices and they treat their customers with respect. I would recommend Auto Spa for any automobile maintenance or repairs without any hesitation.

Ed Picard was very friendly and professional. I am new to Sparta, NJ and needed your basic oil change and filter replacement, and he went further in his effort to help me and explain each task he was performing. I've been to Pop Boys service centers and never got the treatment that Ed offered. He explained the different filters that I could choose from, topped off all of the liquids in the car (free of charge), and explained how I could increase my fuel-economy next oil change. He also looked at my tires (checked the pressure for free) and mentioned they can be rotated next oil change, which I never knew about. Pep Boys just seemed to get it done as fast as possible and didn't explain anything in detail. Ed was very approachable and kind, unlike other shops that seem to take advantage. GO HERE!
