Customer satisfaction is extremely important, only the best materials are used on all projects, no cutting corners is allowed on any job. Licensed electricians and plumbers are used on all re-modeling projects. We welcome all township inspections, We try harder. Labor cost for To-Do-Lists are $125.00 per hour plus materials and sales tax, with a minimum of 1 hour. After the first hour, we bill in 15 minute increments.. (Please be advised), when a member is paying by the hour, I take that very seriously, we do not sit around and take breaks. When we arrive at your home, we get right to work and get your list done as fast as possible, keeping Quality at the top of our list. After getting your list together,I will Tell you what materials will be needed to complete the project, I will pick them up on my own time, this helps to save you money, it is important to have the proper materials on site to get the job done right. Additional items not on the list, may need to be re-scheduled if I do not have the materials on my truck at that time, or if other members are scheduled for that day. If you e-mail me a list of your projects, I may be able to e-mail you an approximate cost to complete your list of projects from my office and give you a ball part estimate of the time it will take to complete. Both cost and time estimates, are dependent on whether or not I find additional damage while making the repairs to your home. I take my business very seriously, the customer must be thrilled with the outcome. I plan on opening an office in Ocean County in the next 6 -12 months to service the members with shore homes. The water in the bathroom shower/tub was too cold. No manner of adjustment, including turning up the temp on the hot water heater to the max, helped. We hesitated to call Glenn because we thought that it would be either a small fix or a BIG job. Finally, in frustration, we called Glenn and asked him to come out to see if he could fix the problem. He came out the same day and immediately diagnosed the cause of the problem. First, he checked to be sure that the water heater was operating correctly , it was. He then took off the cover plate of the diverter switch over the tub that controls water flow and temperature and made some adjustments. Everything seemed to be fine. Glenn said that he would come back the next day to be sure that the problem was solved. I asked him if he would look at my non-working vacumn cleaner when he returned.
Glenn returned the next day. He did some final adjustment to the diverter. We were estatic; it is wonderful to have a shower with the desired water temperature. Before he left, he showed me how to perform periodic draining of the water tank. I didn't know that this was required to maintain a properly functioning water heater.
Glenn looked at the vacumn cleaner, the belt was broken and a piece of metal was stuck in the rollers. He took the bottom off and removed the metal obstruction and replaced the belt. The machine worked was fine. Glenn spared me the time and expense of a trip to the repair shop.
Glenn refused to take any money. We couldn't thank him enough. Glenn always responds to our calls for repairs, etc., in a timely manner. His price is always fair. He never closes out a job without being assured that the customer is satisfied. If he can't perform a type of work, he will explain why and recommend the type of technician needed. Despite the persistent winter, we have already started a list of spring jobs that we will be calling him for.
The Happy Handyman Service is always our First Choice for home repairs/improvements. We have used Glenn's company for over 8 years for substantial renovations, painting, powerwashing, windowwashing, etc. He and his staff have proven to be reliable, knowledgeable, and trustworthy.

I had the Happy Handyman (Glenn) do work in my condo about a month earlier, and everything went well. I had him do several different things before my hardwood floors were to be installed. Right before I was to have the floor installed, I realized I had forgotten to have one other thing done, which was have trim installed around the closet opening in the bedroom.
I contacted Glenn and he responded right away, and was able to finish the job quickly and for a good price. I know he is very busy because of the many good reviews he has here on Angie's List, so the fact that he was able to fit me into his schedule was very appreciated.
I'll certainly contact him again for any future jobs.

I am in the process of remodeling the entire main floor of my condo, and I hired the Happy Handyman (Glenn) to do some of the work. I wanted to get this stuff finished before I had my new hardwood floors installed.
Glenn and his helpers installed 2 pre-hung interior doors and necessary trim (one for the bedroom, and one leading to the basement, installed new sheetrock and insulation on one wall where it was removed, and repaired multiple areas of sheetrock on the walls and ceiling where it was either damaged or had paint peeling off.
Glenn did a great job. He was responsive to my emails and calls. Installing the trim around the windows was tricky because the windows were not perfectly level and even with the wood beams. The end result looks great. You would not even know that the walls and ceiling were damaged at all. Everything is nice and smooth.
Glenn is a very nice guy, and he takes the time to explain everything he is doing, and will give you good suggestions if you are not quite sure what you want to do. He made sure I was satisfied with the finished job and offered to fix anything I wasn't happy with. I was happy with everything though.
I will surely contact him again for any future work I need to have done.

Glenn and his skilled worker arrived at 9 a.m. They worked steadily until about 4 p.m. Glenn went the extra mile to respond to our request for urgent help to repair these toilet leaks on a bitterly cold day. Once the work was done, everything looked brand new. The plumbing repairs and the cleaning were done with exceptional care. When they were done, the results looked so good that they could have been photographed for a magazine "how to" article. Total cost: Extremely reasonable at $588; this included some hardware to fix the toilet leaks. The results: Sparkling home plus peace of mind. It doesn't get any better than this. If major awards were given for handyman services, then Glenn Mudrick, aka The Happy Handyman Service LLC of South Plainfield, N.J., should walk away with the Golden Globe, the SAG, the BAFTA, the Critic's Choice, and yes, an Oscar. We have been using his services for most of the eight years that we've lived in our home. And we will definitely call him back for our projects - big and small - this year and beyond.

"And the Oscar for Best Handyman Goes To ... " Glenn Mudrick, aka The Happy Handyman Service LLC of South Plainfield, N.J. We needed plumbing repairs and upgrades to fix leaks as well as bring our two full baths back to excellent condition. Glenn and his worker spent the day with us - from 9 a.m. to nearly 6 p.m. Everything was done so professionally. The house sparkles and looks brand new. (Our house was built in 1982.) We are not just HAPPY with the service. We are ECSTATIC. We have used the services of The Happy Handyman (Glenn Mudrick) for several years now, and we will keep calling him back for jobs big and small. The Cost: Extremely reasonable - The total, $847.44, includes $272 for parts and materials.
The Results: Priceless.

I am an attendee of Cedarcroft Bible Chapel in South
Plainfield, N. J. Glen Mudrich
(Happy Handyman) has been of great service to us, especially since we have
allowed a new Christian school to use our education wing during the week. The presence of this school has
resulted in cramped storage space.
In August and September of 2014, Glen did several important repair
projects at no charge.
In the front of the church, he did work with our Belgian
block. A prior contractor had put
a Belgian block border around the area of our church sign that was very
subpar. Glen took the blocks out,
dressed up the area around the church sign and moved the blocks to a designated
area.
More significantly, Glen repaired many of the Belgian blocks
along the border of our driveway in front of the church that had been loosened
and dislodged by the contractor that took care of our winter snow plowing. The blocks were replaced with exceeding
care and, consequently, are very sturdy and look great.
Finally, because of the sharing of the Christian school with
our church office space, a complete new wall of upper and lower cabinets was
installed. Also, an existing
counter top was cut down and installed as part of the job in order to save
money. The job took most of the
day with a very skilled assistant.
It has greatly added to the functionality of the church/school office.
The Church and School are very appreciative of the work the
Happy Handyman has done.

Our friend, Margaret, lives with her son, Bill Jr. , in a
home she has owned for 40 years.
Her husband died twelve years ago. Bill Jr. is not strong physically, thus has done very
little in the way of home improvement.
Neither Margaret nor Bill, Jr.
see well. This has only
compounded the situation in which there home has not been kept up.
My wife and I made this situation known to Glen Mudrich
(Happy Handyman). When presented
with a list of chores necessary to enhance the quality of living in the home,
Glen was there within a week and spent a full day with his employee getting the
job done. (Margaret was in the
hospital at the time and some of the tasks included making the home ready for
her return.)
Glen began with repairing the siding in which the squirrels
had succeeded in breaking through and chewing a whole 3? by 1? into the insulation
of the home, readying their center of hibernation for the winter. Also, the sill plate for the picture
window was loose. Glen screwed it
in, caulked it and painted the screws white.
The outside issues had been taken care of.
In the
interior, where the rug was loose from the back of the step, Glen nailed it in
place and screwed a piece of wood, painted black, over the torn rug so Margaret
wouldn?t trip. It looks great. The light in the basement bathroom was
repaired. The light in the
upstairs hallway was taken down and a new one (no charge for the light) was
installed. These repairs will make
it easier for Margaret and Bill Jr. to navigate in their home.
Finally, Glen installed a very nice mailbox (no charge for
the mailbox) so Margaret and Bill will not have to walk down flights of steps
into the garage to get their mail.
Glen has done this for no charge and, in turn, Margaret and Bill Jr.,
feel safer in their home and won?t have to worry about the squirrels this
Winter.

The workmen arrived promptly on the scheduled date, laid drop cloths to protect the carpet, and began demolition. The old fixtures: vanity, toilet and tub, medicine cabinet were removed first. Next came removal of wall and floor tiles. When the tub was removed, it was discovered that the subfloor was not in good condition. We opted to replaced the subfloor ($750.00). When the walls had been demolished to the studs, a slow leak and a small amount of mold was discovered that resulted from rotted drain pipes. The contractor was especially concerned that the leak be corrected before the walls were closed . He called and came in over the holiday weekend to trouble shoot the persistent leak ( no additional charge). It turned out that the leak came from the shower in the adjacent master bathroom, not the bathroom under renovation. Correction of this issue added an additional $350.00 for replacement of the drain pipes and the trap in the master bathroom shower.
Walls were painted and tub,toilet, wall and floor tiles, lights, medicine cabinet and ceiling fan were installed. Significant delay in completion resulted because the vanity was shipped not according to specification. Also, when the new vanity came in, it was discovered that the wall cabinet was not satisfactory and changes had to be made by the manufacturer. Also, there was a time lapse due to scheduling of township inspections. The contractor was not on site all day everyday but stopped by or called in regularly . His crew had worked for us before and we were confident in their ability to do the work correctly. They did extremely well in terms of completion time due to the fact that the bathroom is very small and only one person can work in there at a time.
Each day the workman cleaned up and vacuumned the floors before leaving. Although we selected the paint color, we were given the opportunity to approve how the paint looked on the walls before the room was painted. We were consulted regarding placement of fixtures such as grab bars, towel bars and shower bar. Throughout the process, we were kept informed about progress and what would be done the following day. This resulted in a less stressful feeling about the job and the selections that we had made.
There was a hole in the downstairs ceiling were the leak had been. The contractor replaced the sheetrock and spackled the ceiling at no additional cost.

"Dear Member, you and your Husband were one of my first customers, I believe that i became a part of your Family that morning., We all talked for a while about and then you made me a delicious breakfast.I ended up staying there for 4 hours. We discussed the plan that you and your Daughter, a (professional interior designer) came up with. I thought that it was a great plan however, as we discussed,In order for a Bath/Kitchen to really look good and last for many years to come, THE PREP WORK IS ESSENTIAL. I need to be thinking six steps ahead, for example, I ask every customer where they intend to have the towel holder -toilet paper holder ..Etc then I install a 2''x12'' board in that area. framed into the studs, this takes me more time however it will never fall off, because i screwed the fixture directly into solid wood (no anchors) How do i make sure that your expensive tiles are not wavy on the wall? i take my time and place shims where needed. You and I have made it a practice to communicate daily. i want you both to know, I appreciate your trust in me, your loyalty over the past ten years and your understanding when my permanently disabled Wife needs me there to care for her every once in a while. I completed 2 1/2 bathrooms for you as well as numerous other projects.i think that I i may need therapy, I am obsessed with quality work....lol Winning the Angie's List SUPER SERVICE AWARD IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO ME. In discussing the details of the work to be done, I determined that Happy Handyman to be as particular as I am in the performance of a job, and he did not prove me wrong. His attention to detail was outstanding. He even picked up on some items that I hadn't thought of. While power washing the items included, he power washed the paver path through the fence gate and paver path leading from the patio. These were small items that did not seem important but nevertheless added to the overall appearance of the property. I could not be more pleased with the repair and painting of the front of the house. He was not satisfied to do a bare minimum of maintenance, and it shows in the completion of the job. Not only does the house look better than it did a decade ago when I had it painted, but it looks better than when we purchased the newly built home in 1976. I have difficulty washing the center panes of my living room and dining room windows on the upper level of my home. Happy Handyman cleaned them for me at no extra charge. This was in keeping with his practice of going above and beyond in making his customers "Happy" too.
Not only have I found a knowledgeable and conscientious worker that I will call upon again for work I want done, I have made a new friend.

When we were deciding on a handyman, our first thoughts turned to Glenn Mudrick (owner of Happy Handyman), a handyman who had reclaimed a friend’s newly tiled bathroom that had been horribly done by a previous contractor. When we heard of our friend’s great satisfaction with Glen’s work, we were sold. Glen did not disappoint. We had very specific ideas about what we wanted in the look of each bath. (Our daughter is an interior decorator and gave us many good ideas). Glenn did not disparage or denigrate any or our ideas or our daughter’s. Rather, he gave his own opinions in the form of options which we might or might not choose, ideas which only served to enhance the look which we desired. Before he started a bathroom, Glenn was always careful to enable us to visualize the new look (e.g. outline a new space design by putting painters tape on the floor) to make sure we would like the look after the re-model. Glenn was very careful. In measuring, he always “measured it twice” and was meticulous in his work. His work was impeccable and his craftsmanship always as close to perfection as possible. If a subcontractor made a mistake, that particular work was re-done to align it with Glenn’s high standards. He always cleaned up each day so we would not be tracking dirt all over the house from his day’s work. Glenn also gave us the names of reputable sales people from reputable firms who could give us ideas about fixtures, tile, countertops, etc. Ours was to utilize their ideas or not, but they always gave us a great place to start. Glenn and his help, specifically, David, were completely trustworthy. Never once did my wife and I have any pause about letting them work while we were gone – even much of the day. To me, this is key in our recommendation for the Happy Handyman to be recommended for Angie’s list. It should not go without saying that Glenn annually contributes to a charitable cause by helping a person/family in need or an institution such as a church. This year he has chosen our church as the subject of his generosity. It is much appreciated. My wife and I heartily endorse Glenn Mudrick and the Happy Handyman service to Angie’s List for his professionalism, craftsmanship, respect and integrity.

It was really a challenge to use every inch of space for your master bathroom, we took an average size bedroom and added a walk-in closet and shelving, as well as give you and your Wife all the goodies that was needed. Process went very well. We found Lowe's had not included screws in the replacement lock. The Handyman worked around this problem and used his own screws as replacements. It was a pleasure to work with someone who was so quick to respond to our needs, and be so pleasant while working with and for us. We will be using the Happy Handyman again.

As usual, Glenn and his crew met and exceeded expectations. Came as scheduled, behaved with courtesy and professionalism and turned in a good job at a fair price. My wife, difficult to please, was happy with the results.
We have used Happy Handyman at least 10 times during the past 4-5 years. We have never been disappointed. The work has included: drywall and carpentry repairs, interior and exterior painting, tile grouting, concrete repair, siding repair, power-washing, window washing etc. Glenn is honest about what projects he can take on, and which he would rather refer to someone else.

Glenn always strives for customer satisfaction. On our latest project, when some wall preparation & my extra requests required more work than expected, Glenn volunteered to work on Saturday to complete the prep/painting job so that we could keep our carpeting installation appointment on Monday.
