I made numerous attempts to meet with George in person to discuss the project in greater detail, but he always had an excuse about why he could not meet.  He stopped by to pick up a $400 deposit check when I was not home to begin work.  However, the work never started.  After doing some investigating and checking with the BBB, it turns out that George Becker and his wife Melissa have operated numerous businesses under different names with a string of past complaints.  I contacted George numerous times to get my money back and he always had an excuse such as I've already spent it, etc. and he finally stopped even promising to do the work.  After he realized that I was not going to stop trying to get my deposit back, he sent me a check for the amount - which bounced.  I spoke to the bank to see what I could do and they said the only thing they could do was keep trying to cash it, which would then result in an NSF fee hitting his account each time.  Eventually after a month of this happening, the check finally cleared.  Dealing with this company was an absolute nightmare.  If there is one thing I learned from this event is never to hand over a check to someone who you have not met in person.
