Came on time and let me know when they were here and when they were finished.

Sprinkler winterization

We used Rand's for the past 3 years.  But for the past year Randy just has not met our expectations:

•  this past winter he would come VERY late in the day to do snow removal (we would leave in the AM for work and school, nothing would have been done when the wife and kids arrived home around 4PM)
  • we had the occurrence where he never showed at all, one of the heaviest snowfalls of the season
  • From then on I would get up in time to shovel out the cars in the AM and come home from work early enough to get the driveway and sidewalk cleared before the temp dropped that evening freezing the snow- more than once I would be shoveling at 6-7PM almost done and he would show up claiming he was tied up elsewhere
• Leaves would be blown out of the yard into the street but I would have to follow up getting the remainder out from corners and from under bushes
• The lawn would be mowed fairly regularly but the bushes would get WAY overgrown before being trimmed back
• Down-spouts would be knocked off that I would have to put back up

The last straw was him coming to the house after 9PM on a weeknight (third week of June) demanding payment (no invoices were left at the house for previous services provided).  Randy repeatedly rang the doorbell, pounded on the front door, and called the house phone simultaneously (I was traveling for business, my wife called me scared as she was alone with the kids, and I heard the events over the phone).  When my wife answered the phone Randy was demanding payment quoting a specific price, we asked that he leave an invoice promising to pay promptly.  The invoice was $100 more than he quoted on the phone, and the breakdown showed a per service price that was higher than agreed to (in writing via email).  We responded in writing that we would pay for the services based on the agreed to rates, left a check as promised which was picked up.   12 days later Randy send an email saying he is coming to the house in the morning to discuss the costs.  I replied saying we were no longer doing business and we had nothing further to discuss.  Randy showed up this morning, started taking out his equipment at which time my wife went out to tell him not to mow as we are not doing business.  After multiple emails saying we were done I truly do not get what could have been misunderstood (all correspondence is in email).

The lack of professionalism continues as we received an email from Randy this morning:

I don't know what else to say other than it is my opinion that consumers should consider their options before choosing Rand's Landscaping.
