K & J Tree Service

K&J was exceptional. They arrived on time and took care of a number of problem trees on our property. They were neat, efficient and consistently took the extra effort to make sure everything was done right. Several of the trees were right next to our home, but they took them down without any trouble. Would definitely recommend them to anyone in the Branchburg area, Top notch company!!!

Extremely well. Some of the work was in tight places where damage could easily have been done. They did a great job for a fair price. Cleanup was excellent. would definitely use again.

So glad to be able to leave a good review! Oscar gave the initial estimate, replying within the same day that I requested. The entire team was professional and did an amazing job. I am waiting for spring to finally arrive to see how the trees look with leaves on them, but I think that they will look beautiful, like they were not pruned, just as we requested. We got 4 estimates. One was almost double the cost. 2 (including this company) gave the same estimate and both were responsive. We went with this company as they responded first. Glad that we did!

I had three trees that I wanted cut mostly down, and another one trimmed. I started calling for quotes on September 21. The trees were quite tall (30 to 50 ft.) and I felt that since they were at the end of my driveway a bucket truck would be the best way to handle them. Thus I contacted companies which offered bucket truck service. K&J Tree Service, LLC were local so I called them first and Oscar responded within 1 hour and came over the next day. Rich Tree Service also responded quickly and came in a few days to give an estimate. Several others I contacted also responded quickly but they were not from the area or had poorer reviews so I did not ask for an estimate from them. Oscar came the 22nd and gave gave me a verbal estimate of $750 and said call him when we decided. When Rich's came a few days later they gave me a written estimate on a printed form with all sorts of clauses and restrictions and fine print. The next day I changed my mind and wanted to change one of the trees to cut down and both K&J and Rich's gave me new estimates, Rich's in writing. Both estimates were close and I decided to go with K&J since they were more informal, local, and first to respond. There was no contract signed, just a handshake. I called Oscar around October 2nd and said, go ahead. Then I didn't hear from him for a few weeks. I called on October 18 and said don't come until after the 24th because we were having company. I called on November 4 and asked about insurance and he gave me the name of their insurance company and the insurance company sent me the insurance information. Then I didn't hear from him for awhile so I called on November 13th and he said that he had a problem scheduling the bucket truck. I called again on November 30 but still no date. After sending him email from their web site in December 4th I finally got a call on the 5th saying they would be there the next day. They arrived at 8:00 in the morning and positioned their bucket truck in the driveway. They started cutting around 8:30am. One smaller tree was cut down to 4 feet, and the two bigger ones to about 16 feet as I had wanted. Then they trimmed a 4th very tall tree cutting out dead limbs. They worked quickly and efficiently with one man cutting and two hauling branches to a chipper. I watched the whole time to answer questions as needed. Oscar was there also most of the time. In addition to the cutting, they also chipped up a trailer load of branches that had fallen from other trees. They cleaned up and were gone before 10:00. Their chipper was not as noisy as some and it was hard to tell when they were chipping or when it was awaiting more branches. Their final price was $50 less than the original estimate and I paid them their original estimate of $750. I would recommend them to others who would like an informal interaction and don't mind scheduling delays. If people want a more formal interaction, Rich was very prompt and took a more formal approach with a signed contract. In the picture the tree on the right was the one trimmed. The next one was cut to 4 ft. and the next two were cut to about 16 ft.. The 5th one was already topped.

It went superbly. Oscar gave us many options and understood our pain about taking down a tree we loved, but which was truly beyond repair. We had about five other services look at the tree the year before, and no one suggested some of the options that Oscar mentioned could have been helpful, even though our ultimate decision was to take the tree down. We had a crew for the day that did a tremendous amount on the property. It's rare to have a provider do the amount of work that Kand J did and truly leave your property looking better than when they found it.

Excellent experience. They did a great job. Showed up on time, took care of business and left my yard very neat. I highly recommend and will do business again.

The service exceeded my expectation. The team showed up on time, and not only did every thing they had committed to do, but they cleaned everything up afterwards, which I had not expected. In addition, they took care of a couple of additional problems that I had not expected to be within the scope of the job.
The team was extremely focused, hard-working, competent, and congenial. These are great people, and I cannot recommend them too highly.

Morning temp was 18 degrees. Chipper was cold and hard to start, eventually warmed up and worked good. Crew arrived a bit later than stated, but with temp being that cold it was understandable. They worked hard took short lunch and got right back to business. Kevin the owner was on the job and working right along with his three other men. They listened to me about what I wanted trimmed. I was able to direct Oscar the tree climber to the branches on oak while Kevin was working on another area of yard cutting wood.

I am pleased with the work, price and would not hesitate to give their name out to friends or family.
