We do great work with 25 years experience in the field, performing residential custom painting jobs, drywall, flood restoration, and commercial projects. Our Angieslist reviews are a tiny sample of the many customers we have serviced privately and as a subcontractor for several restoration companies, and general contractors along the way. Also, we are not McDonalds of Painting and prefer to work with clients who want a great job with a small owner operated company that delivers quality work at fair price. He did a great job! The rooms look better than when we moved into our new house 30 years ago. Some of the walls required major repair, and the results were very good. We had some accent walls, and the edges are sharp and clean. He was open to sampling colors and revising the choices mid-job. He is somewhat of a perfectionist. Before starting the job, we communicated via texting. His initial quote remained constant.

Ian was very responsive right from the start. We communicated via text message. When he came to give me an estimate, he was quite thorough, pointing out where fixes needed to be made and what he would be doing. I told him the color I had chosen for the wall and he helped me choose the color for the trim. I could not be happier with the color choices. Ian did a fantastic job. He fixed what needed fixing and the paint job he did was perfect. We were in constant contact re: suggestions, questions, etc. I would definitely recommend him to anyone. In fact, I plan to hire him to do some more work on my townhouse once I decide what I want done.

Ian was quick to respond with a quote. (The only provider who asked for photos before wanting to come see).
He started with in 2 days of coming to a price. His price was extremely competitive to the other prices. I felt like the other providers did not want to deal with damaged drywall and priced accordingly.
We agreed on a labor + materials price. To keep cost down Ian used up my materials before going and acquiring new. I appreciated this since the other contractors I contacted we're pretty stubborn on buying their own supplies.
Ian showed up everyday until the job was complete. The job took 2 more visits than he initially indicated however, the cost of the work stayed the same.
The finished product is smooth and better than I expected it to be.

We needed someone to tape and mud the drywall we put up ourselves while finishing our basement. Ian was very prompt and accommodating from the initial phone call. He was able to come give us a fair quote right away and started soon after as promised. The men who came to do the job set down paper on our hardwood floors before doing anything, so it was a clean job from start to finish. Someone always came and in cases where no one could come, Ian called us right away to let us know. He even gave us recommendations on what types of paint to buy since we wanted to paint the walls ourselves. Couldn't be happier with the experience we had and would use them again in the future. Ian is great to work with. He's a busy guy, but keeps his projects moving along. He's easy to reach and kept us up to date during our project. The quality of work is excellent - I don't think that anyone could have done a better job. Price was reasonable. The crew protected other areas of our home that they had to pass through to get to the work area. Everything was left clean and neat at the end of each work day. I'm very happy with the work that Maxim Painting and Contracting did for me. I would certainly hire them again for future projects at my home.

Whenever I met with Ian Garavuso the owner he arrived on time. His estimate was provided in a timely manner. The original estimate that he provided was to paint only the walls of our new home because the developer was going to paint the walls, ceilings and moldings a shell white. After the original painting was completed I did not think that the shell white would work with the colors that we had chosen for the walls. When we met to discuss painting the ceilings and moldings in addition to the walls he believed that it was not necessary to paint the ceilings and moldings and that I should consult with my wife and our decorator. After my wife saw the color we decided that he was right. We were very greatful that he did not just say yes to add additional work. I thought that I would have to replace six square yards when the modifications were made to the closet, however when his men performed the work they very carefully cut the carpet and we only had to replace three yards.
All of the staff that performed the work were very courteous and when the project was completed they cleaned up so well that you would not know that any work was performed.

They began the job on time, showed up promptly every day, took great care to protect the carpet and furniture, and did a quality job. The process took several steps of plastering, sanding, priming, painting and the result was just unbelievable. You can look very closely, and never know what an absolute mess these walls were before Maxim got to them. I was blown away.
The job took a little longer than originally estimated because it required so many levels of repair and paint, but the result was well worth the wait. Another contractor would have rushed through the job. Not Maxim. They do it right.
Throughout the project, they were responsive and kept me posted of progress. When they were in the house and I had to go out, I never worried about my belongings.
Despite the extra time and effort required to properly finish the job, the actual bill was only $50 over the estimate. Perfect!
I intend to use these guys again. You should feel completely confident hiring them for your painting and other projects.

Ian and his team were very professional, arriving and departing on mutually agreed-upon schedule. All flooring/furniture properly protected, painting area separated by plastic sheets. The result: a beautiful restored living room!

Excellent. Ian was the best contractor who worked on my major home improvement projects in 2009/2010. No problem whatsoever. I did not find Ian myself. My neighbor is a general contractor. I spoke to him about fixing my living room and dining room ceilings that had major cracks and some moisture stains, as well as painting the interior of the house. My neighbor contacted a painter and both of them came to the house to review the ceiling and painting projects in February 2010 - the painter would also handle the ceiling repair. The estimate I received was in the ballpark of all the other estimates so I decided to proceed. However, after obtaining other estimates and before giving the final go-ahead, my basement suffered water damage in the March 2010 rainstorms, and I had to postpone the ceiling repair and painting projects until the basement matter was resolved. In any case, after the basement was taken care of, I contacted my neighbor and painter in early May 2010 and told them to proceed. However, I assume the painter was concerned about his ability to handle the ceiling repairs, so he brought Ian (the owner of Maxim Painting and Construction LLC) in for the ceiling work and spackling. Ian gave me a fair quote to install the ceilings in the living room and dining room, and the work also included spackling/repairing several cracks in the interior walls and bedroom closets and ceilings, so that everything would be ready for painting. Ian and an assistant started work on Monday May 10, 2010 and worked the following 4 days through Thursday May 13, 2010. Everything was done timely, went smoothly and still free of problems almost one year later. Very professional. Would definitely use them again and recommend them to others.

As new homeowners we felt very overwhelmed with the task of repairing our cracked plaster walls, especially since the previous owners tried to use textured paint to cover up the cracks and other imperfections. We called Ian around 12 PM and by 2 PM he had showed up to give us an estimate. Ian was very detailed and informative in his estimate and his price was more than reasonable. Within two days Ian and his crew began their work, they were all professional, punctual and very friendly. During the day Ian would send us pictures to show us how the work was progressing. All in all we could not be more happy with the service that Ian and his crew provided.
