Elvin called me right away after messaging him through Angie's List. He quickly got the job done and I've have had no issues since he replaced two exterior floodlights. I was surprised Elvin came down my way considering he is located in Somerset, but as we talked he admitted he thought I was closer. Nevertheless, he had committed to the project so he kept his word and saw it through. Elvin knew exactly what he was doing as he was done in less than 15 minutes for both projects. It's actually a shame he doesn't normally service my area in Monmouth County as I would definitely look to him again for future work. Very professional, experienced, and efficient.

Did a lot of small and medium repairs and installation around the house, job was well done in every case.

Hired to perform a job, the quote was not cheap but job was important to me. Had to reach out several times to get him scheduled, he cancelled with short notice at least once. Performed the job in a different way than discussed (with my approval) and it held up for first several days, but then became worse then before the work. Reached out several times to fix the issue. Initially he could not make it for two weeks, then said he would try "tomorrow" and never made. He stopped responding to texts after that. If you need someone to standby their work, Elvin is not the one in my experience.

He told me to run the machine on a short cycle with nothing in the machine. If the machine is okay then it will drain the water that did not drain.  If the machine did not drain the water after the cycle, then he will have to come over and diagnose the problem. Fortunately, the machine drained.

Elvin promised to show up at 9 am. He arrived exactly on time. He removed his shoes (since we don't wear outdoor shoes indoors), and diagnosed the problem. He is very professional. In a previous job, Elvin diagnosed and fixed my washing machine. I would use him again if another appliance breaks!

Easy as pie. Elvin asked me information over the phone. I emailed him photos of the stuff behind the front panel of the washer. He suspected it was the drain pump but then he drove over later in the day to be sure. Once he was sure, he guided me as I ordered the part online. Then he left. I did not pay him for these services. The part arrived in 3 days. One day later, he came over and installed the part. He fixed the machine. He was very neat. He was very careful draining the stagnant water from the machine. Elvin takes a lot of pride in his work. I will recommend him to all my neighbors. I paid him when he left. Great value for the price.

Elvin was professional and courteous with the service he provided. I would recommend him to others.

He was extremely courteous, professional, and thorough. He did the work in just a couple of hours, he did an excellent job of cleaning up afterwards, and he even went a step further to secure the top part of my storm door to the frame with much longer screws.
I was very happy to find someone like this in my neighborhood, and would certainly look to use him for future jobs.

Elvin was very responsive and pro-active. When he looked at the gutter, he told us it was not broken, but he did notice a riser through the roof that needed sealing. All the work was done promptly and looks great.

I contacted this service provider on 8/19/2013 requesting to come and look at the kitchen countertop that needed repair. The service provider came to our home on 8/26 on-time, very professional, reviewed the countertop problem we had and recommended the necessary repair work. The work was to repair the countertop by installing wood molding around the countertop. We were very happy with this advice as we did not have to replace the countertop. Also, the price quoted for the repair work was reasonable. We decided to go with this service provider.
I requested the service provider via email on 9/4 to provide a date so the work can commence. From this point onwards, there were no replies to the emails. I even contacted the service provider via Angieslist messaging tool and text messages requesting to confirm a date for the work to start. Unfortunately, the service provider either did not respond or kept saying that he needs sometime to confirm a date. Finally, it was month of December and there was still no confirmed date from this service provider.
I only waited because the service provider provided us a good advice - that the countertop can be repaired without having to replace it with new one. 3-4 months is a long time for someone to wait. I don't think any customer would appreciate this. I finally decided to get the job done by another service provider.
It is very disappointing that this service provider made us wait for such a long time and never gave us the date to begin the work. The quality of responsiveness overshadowed the quality of work that the service provider suggested.

I spoke with the owner by phone, I believe his name was Elvin, on Thursday 9/12/13, and he said he could easily look at my problem with my stairs creaking. He said he could meet me at my condo on Monday 9/16 at approximately 4:30 PM to inspect my stairs and provide an estimate, and that he'd call me beforehand to confirm. I didn't get a phone call which in and of itself didn't bother me. What bothered me was when he didn't show up, after I'd taken a partial day off from work and waited until after 5:00 for him to arrive. I tried to call him, and left a voice mail to which he didn't respond. I know it wasn't a and quot;big moneyand quot; job, then again if it were I'd have been looking for a licensed contractor instead of a handyman. NOT what I or anyone would consider a good business practice in this day and age of online reviews.

UPDATE 9/18/13
The owner called me this morning to say he received my voice mail, and to apologize about Monday, that he thought our meeting was for the following Monday (it wasn't). He was still available to meet but I thanked him for calling me back and told him I'd already hired someone. Still an overall and quot;Cand quot; grade for not keeping better notes on meetings and for not calling back sooner, it shows a need for better organizational skills and urgency in returning messages related to business issues.

He was very punctual and very quick, he quoted me a price and was done with the light and first half of the patching before I returned with the cash.

Mr. Motto was prompt, pleasant and professional. He explained each step of the process and answered my questions.

He did a good job.

His final price never exceeded his estimates. He worked to accommodate my schedule and was
always on time. Very likeable and did a great overall job.
