We wanted the trees attended to especially in view of potential storm damage.  On consulting with my backyard neighbor and going into his yard, I saw that our trees were making it very dark and overshadowed, so we wanted to alleviate that as well.  Some of the cutting was over the neighbor's yard (across a fence) and possibly involved entering his yard.  Alan (the owner) was careful about looking into that.  The price he gave us was very good, about half of another quote we had.  The work, by and large, was done well and to our satisfaction.  There was no, or very, very minimal, damage to our neighbor's plants, which was one thing we wanted to avoid; they were happy with the outcome.  Also, the workers cleared up and chipped a brush pile we had accumulated without having to or even being asked.  Negatives:  the workers used some small tractors or similar equipment to move cut wood around, and it damaged the lawn in the front and the back (though not severely, and as of this writing, about 2 years later, that is all fine).  The workers seemed pretty much limited to Spanish, which I do not speak.  As they worked, I saw a couple of other things that I would have liked cut, but couldn't communicate that.  However, we found Alan considerate, thoughtful, careful about setting things up, and pleasant to work with.  I would recommend his service.  I think our problems could be avoided by A. Discussing with him ahead of time what machinery will be used where, to avoid potential damage and B. Arranging that he stop by at some point during the work to consult on any issues that show up or any additional items that should be done (in cutting very overgrown trees, there are times that you don't see a limb or two that should be cut until after the work has started).  I consider these negatives pretty minor, and as said, would go to this company again if needed.  PS I don't recall exactly when the work was done, but it was roughly two years ago as of this writing (June 2015).

This is an honest contractor who is true to his word. Allan did the initial consultation and sent me an estimate. He was professional and knowledgeable, and I know of neighbors who have used his company's services before, so this was the right guy for the job. His crew showed up bright and early today, with professional-grade equipment and they got right to work. First, they tore out an old tree stump that was covered in poison ivy. Then they proceeded to eliminate all the thick weeds from the perimeter of my yard and cleared the big piles of branches from the sides of my house using a wood chipper. I emailed Allan that there were a couple of things that needed fine-tuning, and his crew came back the same day to get it done in freezing temperatures and brutal wind. They were so good that I've already booked them for the next project. Highly recommended.

UPDATE: Second project completed by Amagreen today - final mowing of front and back lawn for the season, clean-up of leaves in front and back yard. Again, these guys are professionals and they really get the job done. They came first thing on a Monday, got out the high-powered equipment and got right to work. The grill area of my backyard had a lot of clutter, with fallen fence posts, Nerf guns, an old dog bowl holder, etc., and they organized it all and cleared it out well.  Don't try to do it yourself; hire these pros. It really is worth it.

SECOND UPDATE: My lawn looks so good that my next door neighbor just showed up on my doorstep, asking who does my lawn! He's going to switch from the lawn service he uses to Amagreen. This neighbor is known for how nice his lawn is kept, and he also has his own tractor, which recently broke down. He said he thinks they did a terrific job and can't wait for them to start taking care of his lawn too!

Allen responded promptly to my request for some trimming work. He always responds promptly, provides a reasonable estimate and performs the work quickly. I have used Amagreen for six years for lawn service, landscaping, trimming and tree removal, and the service has always been excellent. The crew arrives promptly, performs the work well and cleans up completely. I have always been very satisfied with their service.

I have used them before for tree service so I decided to go with them again. They did a great job and I thought that their price was reasonable.

So I'm sorry this guy gets a big fat F in my book for FALSE ADVERSTING!

The service is provided weekly, starting in April, usually ending in November, depending on weather conditions. The crew consists of 3-4 guys who are prompt, thorough, and professional. Also, if additional services are needed, tree/shrub pruning or removal, these can be done as well.
The fee listed above is approx. cost for one week, for my yard size. I am contracted for the season, payments are made monthly from May to December.

This is the second time I have used Amagreen. The prices are fair and the provider shows up when he says he will. I would use him in the future if I needed more lawn/garden service.

We set a time for a consultation and Allan was very prompt for that appointment. During the cosultation, we reviewed the work to be done, agreed on a price, and a time was set to have the work done early the following week. The crew showed up as scheduled, did a great job with the work, and cleaned up nicely. I thought the price was very reasonable and the quality of the work was top notch. Would not hesitate to use again.

Excellent job. They were on-time, quick and thorough. They accidentally cut an electrical wire and Allan had a handyman come and repair it.

We never received a call back, even sent a message through Angie's list. This is probably the 4th provider who doesnt respond to requests through your "send message" tool

The job was done professionally and they left the property very clean. Alan was very accomodating and courteous. His men were very friendly and worked very hard. I can't say enough good things about Amagreen.

We had a partially uprooted blue spruce in the yard, thanks to hurricane Sandy. It was leaning up against another tree - both trees are fairly tall. Amagreen sent a team out to the house and took down the leaner, in short order, and cleaned up afterwards. They were prompt and efficient, the price was fair, and I am very satisfied.

We did not have any problems. They were fine. We think it took them a couple of hours to do the job and they cleaned up the mess. For us everything was fine and we didn't have any problems. We will use them again in the future.

Their price was very reasonable compared to the estimates. They removed three trees. There was no damage to the lawn and they cleaned up after themselves. They did not require pre-payment of services. They did the work and then the builder came back with the bill.

Absolutely no complaints. Price was exceedingly fair.

Just what I wanted . . . simply and perfectly done!

I am a repeat customer because of the high quality work that Allan and his crew perform. I had a few trees and hedges that needed care, which was the reason I called Amagreen. Allan clearly explained what could be done in our yard: he had his crew come out THE SAME DAY to do the following: trim braches on our birch trees so that my husband can comfortably mow around them, remove the stump of a thorny bush that was proving quite bothersome, remove a spruce bush hybrid that was suffering from a spider-mite infestation, remove a tree that had started growing through some bushes, and trim some hedges that were seriously overgrown. I feel so fortunate to know that I can call Allan whenever I have a concern in my yard because I know that he and his crew will perform a great service at a reasonable price.

I contacted Amagreen about cutting down a large pine tree that had died. Normally I would try and do this type of thing myself, but the tree was extremely large. Amagreen showed up within one hour and was able to give me an estimate that included removing a section of fencing near the tree, cutting down and removing all the tree, and also removing logs and branches from 2 trees that had fallen down earlier. The work was done 2 weeks later. The only thing that could have been better was if they gave me a call the day before they would be doing the job, as I would have preferred to be home while they did it. As it was, my wife was home. The work was done to my satisfaction. The fencing was replaced and the work area was cleaned up nicely. I wouldn't hesitate to use this company again if the need arose.

Contractor personnel are professional, perforn there job well and clean up after themselves. I am pleased with every job they have performed.
