Princeton Lawn plowed me out from the blizzard. They were quick, punctual and did a great job. They plowed my driveway, shoveled my walkways and even cleaned the snow from my car. I highly recommend them!
"We are grateful for the positive review and wish we could provide even more customers snow removal services. Unfortunately, the demand is overwhelming so we are not able to take on additional residential snow removal customers at this time."

Looking at Angies lists for potential providers I contacted several businesses. After the first phone call to PL&L, they indicated they would get back with a quote. At that time, I was still in contact with other service providers. We wrote an email through Angie's list to contact PP&L again to ask if they going to offer a quote. At that time they asked for a second chance. Dav from PL&L came to the house, gave a quote for rototilling services to beak up the soil in the vegetable garden, agreed to a time and price which we shook hands on. He indicated he was to follow up with an email with everything in writing. At that time, I stopped looking for another provider. The timing was important as we had ordered plants and needed to get them into the ground when we picked them up. Luckily, we put off the pick up date a week longer than we thought the provider would need.
As a price comparison, to rent a heavy duty tiller from Home Depot would have been approx $100, with truck rental another $50. Cultivators which only cut in about 2 inches were cheaper. I would have done the work myself as I have in the past but was coming off a bad back and did not want risk a re-injury. The quote from Princeton Lawn was $550.
There was no follow up email from PL&L and had to follow up again when I did not hear form them after the date they were to provide the service passed. They then indicated they would come the next week. Again a no show and no call. I emailed and indicated they needed to finish by the end of this week. They showed up on May 22 and took 2 tries to complete. The first time, they brought a light duty tiller which I questioned the workers on the adequacy of their equipment. They left without letting me inspect. Having just looked at their work, I was terribly disappointed. They appeared to have moved around the top 2 inches of top soil and peat moss I laid down. The owner, Tom, called, and said they were coming back again to get it right. He also came to inspect personally. At the end, the rototilling was completed to my satisfaction. To make amends, they also deducted $100.
"Our services are in great demand and we did not get to this job as quick as we should have. The Customer requested tilling to a depth of 4 to 6 inches The depth measured 5 to 7 inches after we tilled. I am the owner and I measured it myself. We embrace diversity in our staff and our customers and strive to treat all types of folks with respect. In my opinion our team was not treated with respect. We would never work for this customer again."
We live on a decent size lot, an acre, and the yard and beds, shrubs, etc., had not been maintained for a long time, prior owner made some bad selections, etc. So, this was a big job.
"We enjoyed working at this customer's beautiful residence. We are happy they are pleased with our service as we are intensly dedicated to giving each customer the same."
These people should not be allowed near any living things.
"Every single statement made by [name removed] conflicts with evidence that is being submitted to Angies's List The men she attempts to demean by calling "boys" are between 25 and 37 years old as their driver's licenses indicate. She claimed at the time they did not speak English, however they are fluent in English. Pictures of all seven evergreens clearly show they were not damaged Pictures indicate that that the very old flagstone is not damaged. In fact it looks very good for such an old patio. These pictures that are also being submitted to Angie's List. Two small broken pieces of flagstone were pointed out to [name removed] prior to the cleaning of the patio which she acknowledged at that time. After completion she claimed that those to pieces were broken during cleaning. She became very agitated and said she would not pay us. And in fact she still owes money to our company. Written notification was given prior to the work that stated the bill would be $685. A copy of this email is being forwarded to Angies's List. We are still attempting to collect that debt. There was no polymeric sand on the windows. It is common knowledge the polymeric sand would not likely adhere to such a glass surface. If it did it could be easily removed. There was no polymeric sand on the flagstone. if there was it could and would have been easily removed. We have 24 previous reviews. 21 A ratings, 2 B ratings and one C rating. Our body of work speaks clearly to our consistent quality and credibility The pictures being to Angie's List speak clearly to the credibility of this review."
"It was a pleasure working with you and your family. Tom and I will pass your kind words on to our team members. we look forward to providing you with outstanding lawn maintenance in the 2015 season"
Great job. Dave and Tom love their work and it shows. They hire very dedicated and hard-working landscape professionals. Our walkway was in bad shape when we moved in. We went over a plan to redo it. Dave met us at the supply store to pick out new stone and walked us through every detail of the installation. He also drove us around and let us pick out trees, shrubs plant etc. and also provided advice. We have a close family friend that is a landscape architect in Texas. She remotely conveyed suggestions and Dave and Tom ran away with them.
Our landscape was in terrible shape (we knew that buying the house) so Dave and Tom created a master plan and walked us through it. We had a bad drainage issue which they solved. There was a lot of moss and dead grass which they also solved. We flew our family friend in to inspect their work and she was really impressed with what they had done. Can't wait to see the landscape next spring when the flowers bloom.
In all the scope of the job was pretty large:
- 1. Remove and Install new walkway. We went with Techno-Bloc stone pavers. They look great. Everyone that comes over comments on how amazing they look.
- 2. Remove existing landscape.
- 3. Develop master plan on new landscape. They are patient guys and appreciate our more quantitative approach in logic.
- 4. Execute the plan. The final plan involved installing several flowing rock gardens with grasses and plants that are shade and water tolerant. We also have 4 gorgeous new trees that have amazing colors and balance each other out. My wife didn't think we could get grass to grow, but Dave and Tom assured us that it would. Finally, our planters are the best in the neighborhood.
We also hired them to maintain our lawn.
"Hi Guys, It was a pleasure working with you and you landscape design friend to come up with the unique ideas specific to your landscape design. Tom and I are both proud of the functionality and esthetics of the new walkway. The rain gardens provide the proper drainage needed and look amazing. We look forward to providing you with outstanding lawn maintenance in the 2015 season. Thanks Dave and Tom"
The design process was truly a collaborative effort! Tom/ Dave came up with an initial draft but it was not exactly what I envisioned. They went back to the drawing board and came back with another plan. We went back and fore few times before we finalized the design. They were very patient with me and very accommodating, as I can be very particular about things. I also very much valued their professional opinions.....
Once we had the final design, Tom quickly scheduled us for the work within a week. He also managed to find me most of the plants that I wanted. On the day of our appointment, his crew arrived on time and work EXTREMELY hard. One thing I really have to give Tom/ Dave big credit was their attention to details. We spent almost 2 hours to discuss placement of each trees/ flowers etc!! They replanted a tree because it was tilted and not straight! They engaged me in the process and allowed me to have an input on the overall work plan. They did everything as discussed and beyond. The crew created an extra flower bed on the side of garage for a better transition from front yard to the side! They cleaned up well after completion and left no mess on driveway. Tom actually came back a day later to provide me with fertilizer/ deer spray and instructions on how to care for my new garden! That's what I call service!!!
Princeton Lawn and Landscaping is not the cheapest company one can find around this area but I think their service and professionalism is worth it. They make me very happy by creating a lovely garden and I can't wait to the spring to start enjoying it!!
"It was a pleasure working with you. collaborating with you on such a unique project was rewarding and fun. We look forward to working with you in the spring planting new perennials and foundation plants"
