The project went brilliantly. I would recommend Shawn and his team and his work without reservation. They are trustworthy, dependable, punctual and reliable (Seeview and the trades Seeview hired). This was a major project that lasted several months and we couldn't be happier. We stayed in the home while the work was done, which was challenging, but Shawn's team really made it manageable. The thing that made it most manageable was that rarely a day went by where there wasn't the Seeview crew or trades putting in a full day's work. There were a few minor hiccups and delays (mostly due to our changing plans) but on a project this size they were extremely minor. When problems came up they were addressed immediately and to our satisfaction. Was there friction sometimes? Sure. They'd get frustrated, we'd get frustrated, we'd hash out a solution, and ultimately got what we wanted. Did we have to pay a little extra for some of those things? Yes. But by no means were we nickel & dimed about every change. When looking at the final product, the thing you can appreciate most is the craftsmanship. A+ quality. I'm sure Seeview has pictures available of the work they did at our home (I'd rather not post them in a public forum like this)

Shawn was fairly reliable from the start of the project. He gave us a reasonable estimate and completed the work within the timeframe he said he would. He did not bill beyond the price he estimated with the exception of a charge for removing the ceramic tile, which he said was not decided on and not included in the contract (which was fine, it wasn't a lot more). The crew he had did a good job, always coming on time, and cleaned up the mess afterwards. Really, the quality of the work and the reliability were good. However, midway through the project we felt Shawn got irritated with questions we had or details that we weren't happy with. For example: he wasn't accomodating to take a picture of the header they put in before they sheetrocked over it so we could have it for records. We weren't home the day it was placed and was a big deal, given it was helping to hold the house up after widening the archway on a load bearing wall. Plus we wanted good documentation of the work we had done in case we ever sold the house and people had questions. At the end of the job, they installed brass door knobs and handles when the ones in the basement and all through the house were silver. When we asked him to switch them he was irritated and said it would be extra. It was as if he didn't want to be bothered with details, yet never sat down and told us what choices we had. I'm sure part of it was our fault since we had never had any work done onthe house and it was our first time dealing with a contractor. At the end of the job we found one of the window pains had a crack in it which we knew wasn't there before they started. Granted our windows were original so it's understandable that can happen. When we told Shawn about it, again, he acted irritated and at times was rude when he came to look at it. We never got upset about it or gave him a hard time. Granted, he did replace it free of charge. My husband was fine with him and said he would use him again but I had more of a problem with how he treated us and seemed irritated to spend any amount of time on details of the project. Lastly, we called him about a year later to look at the gable roof over our front door. He was friendly on his cell phone, and said he didn't remember us but would come by the next day to take a look and do measurements. Well, he never showed up. Called him again and he never returned the call. I regret that I recommended him prior to being stood up by him on the gable roof.
