I was referrred to Lomedico Motors by a close friend after I found out I needed a very expensive part to my Mercedes. My car has been well maintained by the local dealer and I was told that my car ran like it had 50K miles on it. I was extremely disapointed when told by the dealer I need a part which cost over $6000.00 new to repair. The dealer was NOT allowed to put in a used part and after a talk with my very kind service partner there I decieded to call Lomedico to see if they could get a used part. From the minute I calle Lomedico I knew I was in great hands!
This is a father and son business and they really know their stuff! They told me to bring the car in so they could double check the problem and I was immediately told the dealer was correct. However .. they immediately assured me they could find me a part and do the job for less money. Well they found a transfer case from a car that was totaled in an sccident with 55,000 miles on it. The part was sent overnight and installed in 2 days. My price I paid for repair was even less then their original quote.. approximately $1400.00 (saving me over $5000.00!! ) and my care is running great.
I even rented a car across the street and recieved a discount because my car was serviced at Lomedico.
Everyone here is proffessional and polite. I will HIGHLY recommend them to all my friends!
About 12 days after I asked Alex to find me a car, I got a call saying they found one matching my requirements - colors, options, etc. - a 2015 with just under 10K miles on it. He emailed me pictures and specs, and estimated how much they'd be paying for it. I gave him the go ahead, and within 2 days I was driving it. Mario Lomedico gave it a fresh oil change, checked all the fluids, and detailed it before I picked it up. The paperwork process took maybe 10 minutes - they had it all set up for me when I walked in. Before I drove off, David walked me through all the technology and showed me how to use all the features - extremely helpful!
The best part is that I know they'll stand behind it. I started taking my X3 to Mario Lomedico years ago (when I found them on Angie's List) and every experience has been excellent. Those guys really love cars! And they understand the value of a long-term customer relationship.
This car purchase couldn't have been easier or taken less time - I didn't have to shop around (other than benchmarking some prices on-line), I didn't have to negotiate a price or wonder where I left money on the table, since the process was so transparent, and I had my car in two weeks. Before this, I didn't know that Mario Lomedico offered this service - and now, I can't imagine buying a car any other way.
My 2006 BMW X3 was rear-ended pretty badly a couple weeks ago - bumper came off, body was damaged, etc. I got it to Allstate for an evaluation the next day, and within a few days had a check and took the car to Mario LoMedico. Alex compared my VIN to the claim adjustor's write-up and quickly spotted that the adjustor had indicated the incorrect bumper part for my car - Alex took care of getting the correct parts and handled all the communication with the insurance company so all extra charges were covered. I knew before I took it in that the car needed brakes, so while they had it, I asked them to take care of that, too. A couple of days before it was due to be done, Alex called and suggested they "buff it out" since they had time. I could tell he just really wanted to see the car restored to new - these guys love cars! - and it's about 9 years old so I wanted to see what they could do with it. I went to get it today, and just couldn't believe it! The car is white but had yellowed a bit over time - it's now a bright sparkling white again and looks brand new, and they somehow got all the brake dust and corroding off the wheels so they look new, too. The rear end work is perfect - better than before the collision. And because Alex installed the dustless brake pads, the wheels will stay clean. The inside of the car is also amazingly clean and smells great! I had the pleasure of meeting his father today, the actual Mario LoMedico, who still works there and clearly takes pride in his business - when I saw him, he was sweeping up some dirt from in front of the door. (Did I mention the place is always spotless? I've been there several times now for repairs and routine service, and it's always clean.) I just got a bonus at work and was thinking about buying a new car, but when I saw what they had done with mine - I feel like I have one!
From the moment they answered the phone and throughout all my dealings with them all of the guys at Lomedico were professional, pleasant and friendly. I never felt like they talked down to me as if I wouldn't understand what they were explaining.. They held onto the car for over week in large part to be certain that the problem would not manifest itself again. David always answered the phone quickly and reviewed what had been done and the progress they were making. When the car was ready to be picked up they brought my husband and I into the shop and Carmine explained everything they had done. I knew the bill would reflect a lot of hours of labor because it proved to be an issue that was not immediately obvious. But it was clear to me that they care about the customers and take pride in their work. I would certainly use them again and would recommend them to anyone. I feel they can absolutely be trusted and charge a fair price for an excellent job.
(If you go, take a Milkbone for Ira - she might just let you scratch her head.... )
