They were pretty good. They gave me a date, and called back and said oh my god we are swamped can we change your date. They were a little early when they showed up. They sat in the driveway until they were in their time window, which was really weird. They waited until absolutely 8:00 to ring the bell. Very professional. They were a service provider that I actually liked. I think it worked out well, because most places will try to up sale you and have the whole unit replaced, they made no attempt to do that and it is almost 30 years old. They came in and measured and cut it out on site. So it was accurate, and they had their big vacuum cleaner and they vacuumed up everything.

This is the second time we met with and tried to work with Gene (old guy).  He first was VERY rude to my wife who met them in the store and had valid questions. 
I then requested a quote for a new fireplace or wood burning stove install at a house we are renovating.  He came out and was miserable, unhelpful, and just plain rude.  
Upon getting the $99 bill for coming out and being a dick, I mentioned that we cut checks from the office and will mail it in.  His comment "There is no billing unless i say there is a billing.  I'm the owner and will do what i want".  He should have added "I'm an a** hole also"
I will not ever give him a cent of my business.
Unfortunately the younger Gene who came out was a nice and helpful guy, but the older guy killed it.  We deal with hundreds of contractors a year in our business and this guy takes it as the A-Hole of the year for 2015.  It amazes me that he is just so rude and plain mean; especially as the owner.  I'm sorry for anyone who has to ever work for him or with him.  Close your business, you dont need to interact with regular decent people.

Chimney's R US came over and cleaned my chimney. They were on time and were absolutely wonderful. They did everything that they said they would do. The pricing was excellent and totally affordable. I enjoyed the fact that they made sure everything was cleaner when they left, than how it was when they came in. They brought blankets and their own vacuum. I was extremely impressed. He also left a brochure with me if I ever needed them in the future to do work. He was knowledgable and he talked me through the process of needing to get it clean every couple of years. From beginning to end it was an overall good experience. He was also an honest man and did not try to up-sell me in anything that I did not need. I recommend them to everyone.

Overall, they did a terrible job. I had to have some one else come in after them to fix the work. I have to repaint three rooms, including the walls and ceilings, and multiple cleanings of the carpet becuase they didn't have adquate supplies to clean out the chimney. I will probably have to replace the carpet. I never got a written report regarding the condition of the chimney. It was supposed to be $169, but I ended up paying $500 and they asked for an additional $400 to do a higher level of inspection.
