Work was done by subs -could not communicate with them as they did not speak English. He would either not answer telephone calls or call back several days later. When I leaned against the railing it came apart and I almost fell 2 stories as the railing was not secured with bolts. Failed first inspection. Left stains on the decking. Very poor workmanship -looks worse than a DIY project by a child. Went over several problems with him in person at one point which he verbally agreed to fix. But then he sent an email saying that our treasurer had paid him and he was not doing anything more.Refused to give me a copy of the signed "contract" - told me to get it from one of the other owners that he had been dealing with as "project contact" even though I was physically in his office. Now my neighbor has a leak in his ceiling over where the deck was replaced that allegedly did not leak before. One of my boards is not even with the rest-claimed the joist was warped- previous deck was even so I guess in the span of a couple of weeks it warped on its own after the old deck was removed. Some of the siding was damaged after removal of the old decking - instead of putting new siding in place caulk was smeared over it unevenly and painted pink when my house is a yellow/tan. Put white Azek boards over our doorstep and smeared with caulk -looks awful and some of the nails are rusting. Put caps over all the screws on the downstairs deck rails, but only covered some on the upper decks -when we complained they added some caps but I guess ran out and just painted the screw heads white like we wouldn't notice I guess.
