Iler tree service did an excellent job and I definitely got my money's worth. Out of 4 Tree services they were the 3rd one I called and the first one to reply. Their estimate was very competitive and James also agreed to chop the tree into 14-16 inch logs for me to split for firewood. Being out of work I knew this alone would help save money heating my home come winter. James and his crew went above and beyond, removing a stump from another dead tree, removing brush and branches from the surrounding area and branches hanging from neighboring properties at no extra charge. They were courteous and cleaned up after they finished not only my property but anything that may have fallen in the neighboring properties. I also like the fact that James is not only the owner but he is up there doing the work with his crew. Some of the Tree Services I met with made it seem like a difficult task because the trees were located in my backyard and I had a narrow driveway. None of the companies I asked would cut the logs for firewood. James made it like this was business as usual and the above factors were not a problem. For this reason, I chose Iler Tree service for the job and will use them again when the time comes.

We have used James Iler's services twice: once to remove trees that had fallen in Irene; another to do general cleanup.  We have many 50-60 ft trees in our yard.  He can be difficult to reach because he is always busy and sometimes his answering machine is full.  But he is worth the wait!  For the second job, Mr. Iler and two workers spent 4 days on our property.  They were punctual, professional and cleaned the yard beautifully.  Mr. Iler is always on the job and is usually the one to climb the trees.  He is extremely knowledgeable and I feel he gave a very honest assessment of the condition of our trees.  He assured us that a few trees we were concerned about were fine and posed no risk.  In the case of a very large tree where the trunk had split in two that was located close to our outside kitchen, he assured us that we could save the tree by cabling the trunks together at the top.  That tree survived Sandy, when several others fell.  Both times we used his service, his price was significantly lower than other competitors we priced.  We highly recommend him to friends and neighbors.

Mr. Iler arrived on time. His men carefully moved all chairs, tables, hanging baskets, and anything that could be damaged by falling branches. They worked carefully and efficiently. There was no wasted time. Everyone was pleasant and hard working. Toward the end of the work I began to sweep an area. One of his men said, "No. We'll take care of everything." All trees were pruned artistically and aesthetically. It was the best job I have gotten in twenty years of owning my home. They worked hard and did a complete job. I was very very satisfied.

Called Mr. Iler and he came out the next day. The estimate was much lower than other people who had offered to complete the job. We then scheduled the work and they came out while I was at work. They brought in all the necessary equipment and took down our 25 ft pine (Christmas) tree with a wingspan of at least 14 feet. You would have never known they were there. When I left the house in my morning it was the Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting ceremony and when I arrived home I was on the ground at Giants Stadium. Great work!

Cleaned up some extra trees

After the initial estimate it was agreed upon the guys came back the very next day. We were asked to have all vehicles out of the driveway by 9.30 in anticipation of their arrival. Sure enough bang on time the crew showed up, ready to start. No more than 90 minutes later the tree was removed and debris was gone. Shortly after that the grinder arrived to remove the stump. All in all from first cut to last sweep the job was done in a morning. Very tidy, very fast and absolutely fantastic service!!

After seeing all the tree damage in my neighborhood caused by hurricane Irene, I decided to have a giant oak tree removed from my back yard that posed a significant damage risk. The tree was an incredibly massive split oak, that, if it were to topple, would have caused major damage to anything and everything in its path. I had made many calls to tree services but only two returned my calls, ILER Tree being one of the two. Having used this service once before, we agreed on the work to be done and the price.

I soon received in the mail the requisite insurance, workmen?s comp; etc documentation. We were good to go. The tree, because of its size required a crane and because of its location (backyard), presented a logistical challenge. ILER Tree came the day before and prepped the area by removing fencing, arbor, pavers and laying down paneling on the ground to protect the lawn from the heavy equipment they were about to bring in.

The following day, a giant crane was backed into the yard. This was a tight fit and I was amazed that not even a drain gutter was dinked. Also, trucks and wood chipper were brought in to haul the tree away. James ILER and his crew were professional and quickly got down to business. They were efficient, coordinated an professional as each team member performed their specific task with James in the trees cutting branches, the crane operator carefully lowering the cut to the ground and the ground crew making quick work of the felled branch. This process was repeated all day until the tree was dispatched.

After the job was complete, they reinstalled my fence, arbor and paving stones. I was very surprised at the great job they did putting it all back together. It was like they were never there.

Over all, I am very satisfied with the work that was done and would HIGHLY recommend ILER Tree Service to anyone looking to have a tree removed, thinned out or cabled.

We initially called three tree services to examine the tree and surroundings and provide estimates for the necessary work.  Two responded promptly; Mr. Iler did not, and I had to call again a week or two later  to make contact.  I almost did not follow up, because one of the other two seemed knowledgeable and cooperative and probably would have done good work.  However, when Mr. Iler kept the promised appointment, his estimate was significantly more reasonable, and we are very glad that we did not give up on reaching him.

Wow!  Everything went exactly as promised for an excellent price.  Mr. iler comes with a small crew but he is the guy who climbs up in the tree and does the actual cutting.  It's a marvel to watch him in action while he hangs from the side of the tree with a chainsaw in his hand.  It gave me a whole new sense of gratitude for having a desk job.   His crew cleans up everything nicely while he does the cutting.  He told me someone would come to remove the stumps in two days and sure enough,  I came home from work two days later and the stumps were gone. 

The service was outstanding: Mr. Iler promptly returned my phone call, went to evaluate the situation and gave me his appraisal. His price was lower than the ones given to us by other companies. Mr.Iler removed the branch over garage, from the tree that was struck by the lightening. He came the following day to finish up the job. I communicated with him over the phone - the job was done for my elderly mother-in-law. He did everything as promised, and my husband paid for the services by sending him a check. I would not hesitate to use him in the future.

The firewood delivered was excellent and I will be ordering more for this season as well as next fall. Additionally, the price for the wood was the lowest as compared to any other quote.

Mr. Iler runs his own show and is proud of this fact. He returns the phone calls, sets up his own schedule, and makes the deliveries. The measure of firewood I received was good compared to purchases made in recent years from other suppliers and the price was inline with what I expected to pay based on past purchases from others. Having bought firewood in the past, I know that stacking of the firewood is not included in the price so if you are not planning on doing this yourself, be sure to ask for a quote on the labor. Bottom line - if you need firewood - Mr. Iler will meet your needs promptly and professionally. UPDATE: A little bit disappointed that the wood was not better seasoned. If you are buying from Iler, just be sure to insist that the wood be seasoned or it will be a chore to get the fire going.

He has been trimming my trees since we moved into the area. He did a very professional job. He has a degree in forestry. He is not just your average joe blow. He knows his trees and arboriculture. I contact three different tree services and go with whoever gives me the best price. You can do very well with Iler if you are very flexible. If you say that you can pay in cash or you are flexible and they can schedule you in, it works out very well. If you tell them that they don't have to haul it away and can just cut it up for firewood, you can use these negotiating tips to get the best deal. He's personable and I can't say anything bad about him. He has been here about six times and he gives me free firewood. He comes with a five-ton dump truck and fills up my driveway. It took five years to use it all up.

They did an excellent job. They did arrive on time and did quality work. He is a very nice guy. Their price was very reasonable. I have recommend them and I would use them again.
