I'll try to make this short as much as I can. I normally don’t like to write negative reviews unless it is a safety issue. Back in August 2020, I called Chris to install a generator outlet. We agreed to a date and he sent his son Chris Jr. along with a young friend. Chris Jr. installed the outlet then said he cannot install the interlock since it is on order and he will receive it in few days. I paid him then he left. Installing the interlock does not involve dealing with electric wires so I asked if he can give me the part number so I can buy it and install it myself. He said I should do it due to safety concern (that's noble right!) . So I agreed. Oh BTW I paid Chris the full amount ($750) giving him the benefit of the doubt. I kept calling few times after they left for the next couple of weeks and they kept telling me when they are in the area they will stop by. So my family safety depends on here they can be in the area. What happened to the concern about my safety when I asked I can do it myself? Anyway, I put that behind me since Chris Sr. eventually came and installed the interlock. Now this is why I am writing this review. Couple of days ago, I needed to check the electric panel tracking a circuit breaker and I suddenly saw the beaker labeled generator not impacted by the interlock. It was free to toggle between ON nd OFF which defeats the purpose of having an interlock. Then I noticed that the interlock was applied to my Furnace circuit breaker. Since the Furnace was running, I immediately knew that rookie Chris mixed up the labels. To make the story short, I found out through few tests that Chris Jr. moved the Furnace and Kitchen circuits to other breakers and used their existing breakers for the generator. Up to this point it is fine since they needed a combined 30 AMP breaker. The issue is that he did not label the breakers they moved correctly. Wrong generator breaker label while I am not sure what that breaker is used to be, and also no label for new furnace breaker. This is what led me to write this review. If I did not do my testing, I could have assumed that old labels are correct and assumed that I turned off the right breaker while it was still hot. I have pictures of my electric panel showing all these mixed up labeling.
Response from M.E.C. Electrical Contractors, LLC
"Customer suddenly didn't want the interlock. Mec couldn't get the interlock in a timely fashion due to the storm, covid 19 and schieder electric supply. We even waived the fee for the interlock due to the inconvenience. As for the safety issue chris Sr moved the interlock he forgot to remark the breaker. We are willing to remark the breakers effected."

Chris Jr. did a fabulous job replacing some older outlets in my home that no longer held plugs snuggly. He worked neatly, quickly, and was quite friendly. I was going to go with the standard outlets, but he even recommended upgrading to some USB outlets in prime areas for easy device charging. Highly recommend this company for any of your electrical needs! I know I’ll be calling again.

The service was good. They came when they said, neat, cleaned up after themselves, and I would give them 5 stars.

It went well. He was able to work around my fairly inflexible schedule, coming over on a Saturday, and they respected my request to all wear masks. They worked late but were able to run all the wires and have the system up before they left. They even patched the holes and cleaned up after themselves which is apparently asking alot of other electricians. They were friendly and informal, yet polite and honest. I'll definitely be using them again.
