I am very satisfied with the jobs done. I work full time and Bryan was able to accommodate my schedule. The two guys arrived within the reasonable time frame I was given. Right after I gave them a walk through what needs to be fixed, they immediately went to work in a timely manner. We noticed the Chandelier was not balanced after they put it up, and they took the time to adjust it, and now it looks perfect! They also did a very good job cleaning up everything afterwards. Highly recommended, and I will definitely give Bryan a call if I need anything else in the future.

We were so impressed by their work and professionalism that we decided to call them back to repair the deck, which was falling into disrepair. They were able to assess the problem quickly, replace several boards and posts that were rotting from age, and they also reinforced the structure.
All this work was done at a reasonable price on top. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for good home improvement and repairs.

I am very pleased with everything they did. The floors are level and beautiful. They even reinforced the floor from the basement which appears to have made all the creaking go away. Well Done! The vinyl flooring in the kitchen is great, but the porcelain foyer is absolutely gorgeous!
The access panel they installed for my shower is just right. I called a plumber several months ago to fix a leak in the shower. The plumber had great difficulty fixing the leak because he didn't have proper access to the shower plumbing apparatus. The plumber said he could put a hole in the wall but would not be able to patch it up. Bryan's Handyman & Home Improvement Service installed an access panel for me and changed out the shower/bath faucet and spout.
I enjoyed working with both Bryan and Josie. Bryan was easy to reach via email or phone. His responses were timely and accurate. I recommend this company to anyone who is looking for a professional experience with solid pricing. Thanks again Bryan's Handyman & Home Improvement Service, I couldn't be happier with the results you gave me and hope to use you again in the future.

We had a mix up on the date, but we were able to get that straighten out easily. On the day of the work Bryan showed up with his crew (4 guys) and showed then all the work that was needed. The guys were very polite & professional. They went right to work and everything was finished in about 2hrs. Overall I was very satisfied and would use them again.

1. My initial request for a written contract was ignored. I never got one. Because of the many positive reviews on Angie's List, I decided to go with the estimate, dated 4/28/2014. Bryan gave me a starting date of 6/3/2014. A little later than I had expected, but I OK'd it.
2. I had previously used a contractor who worked with me as a team (discussed options, helped me pick out items, made suggestions, etc.). Bryan did nothing of the sort: he would pick up items at Home Depot, but I had to pick out and order everything, right down to the color of the grout. No big deal, but I was disappointed that there was no rapport whatsoever with him; he strictly did what he was told, and no more. Although his crew was friendly and cooperative, Bryan himself came across as conceited and overbearing. He never came to check up on the crew, or to monitor the progress.
3. Because I was not used to this kind of process, I submitted a list of questions to Bryan on 5/15/2014. No response. I re-submitted the list on 5/25/2014, and received an email apology with the statement that my questions "had fallen through the cracks". By that time, I was no longer able to get some of the needed items (floor- and ceiling tiles) in time for the June 3 starting date.
4. The job in one of the bathrooms did start on 6/3 but could not be completed because of plumbing hardware that had to be installed in the new vanity, and was not available. The crew left, and no date was given for their return. Since they had to remove my washer and dryer, which are in that bathroom, in order to install the new floor tiles, they omitted to put them back. When I called to alert Bryan, I was told that this had been "an oversight" (SOME oversight!). The crew returned to reinstall my appliances.
5. Because of the delay in the delivery of the tiles, etc. (which did not arrive until early July), I was informed that Bryan's schedule would not allow him to finish the job until mid-August . As the delays were caused by THEM, I insisted they finish sooner; they so did by mid-July.
6. At the completion of the job, I was presented with a final bill that contained a number of items not included in the original estimate, and was 30% higher than the original estimate. Although I have sympathy for unexpected cost overruns, none of these items had ever been mentioned to me, nor sought my approval for. I refused to pay for the overruns , which, for the most part, were unreasonable and/or non-existing.
7. Although the work itself was not altogether below-par, I did have some complaints:
a. no touch-up painting was done where the new vanities did not cover the outline of the old ones.
b. one bathroom door had not been painted.
c. boxes with items, stored by the crew in my dining room, as well as foot prints, had left stains on the carpet.
d. a towel bar and faucet of the old vanity, that I had requested to be retained and put on the new vanity, had been removed and discarded.
8. On 7/22/2014, Bryan came to my home, agreed that the 30% unauthorized overrun was unreasonable and took it off the final bill, and had my complaints mentioned under 7. corrected.
He apologized for all the miscommunications and misunderstandings (were they?????), and said he hoped that his correcting the mistakes would have restored my trust in him. It has not, and I will not use him again, nor recommend him to others."Dear (member name), 1. We did have a written contract dated 4/28/14, which was emailed and accepted by you. We agreed on a 6/3/14 starting date so you could order the necessary materials. 2. I am a contractor, not an interior designer so you actually paid me a compliment when you said that I picked up the items that you requested as that was my job, not selecting the color scheme for your bathrooms. Yes, my crew is friendly and cooperative and you took advantage of their good nature by repeatedly asking them and me to pick up additional items at Home Depot on at least 7 occasions. I was in constant communication (daily) with my crew monitoring their progress. I don’t know how you think that I am overbearing as I followed your instructions without question. 3. When we realized that you had submitted questions we answered them and also worked with you to find the tiles that you wanted. 4. You stated that you did not need the washer and dryer for a few days but when you changed your mind they were reinstalled the next day. 5. Again, we were able to fit you in, which is another compliment after you did not order the tiles or the other fixtures in time which caused us unnecessary and numerous trips. 6. You were aware of the items that were not included in the original estimate as you were there for the entire time my team was working on your bathrooms. They were not non existing. I might add that in this contract it plainly states that “Cost of additional materials and/or labor will be charged if applicable.” There was extra work needed to remove your old bathroom floor which was explained to you! We even had to rent a machine to remove glue that was underneath your old original floor for approximately 35 to 40 years. 7. Interesting how you have complaints but we fixed all the items that you mentioned and even shampooed your carpet where we left two footprints. 8. I took the extras off the bill because you did not understand them and gave me such a hard time about paying for what was done. When I came out to estimate your projects you had already bought a vanity for your master bathroom that I advised you that was the wrong size and would not fit. You could not return the vanity but I managed to install this vanity in your hall bathroom. I do not think that you understand the scope of what was accomplished at your home."

Covering a brick fireplace with sheetrock may seem like an easy task. Trust me, nothing in my house is an easy task. We started with bricks that, when built in 1976, were probably all the rage as far as decorators were concerned, as there were at least 75 - 100 bricks that were set 90 degrees to the wall and jutted out about 3-4 inches. All of them were offset from every other one, so it wasn't as easy as just putting up some 2x4s. That fireplace has been a thorn in our side since we moved in, in 2003. We had always wanted to cover it up and bring the house up to a more contemporary style.
Bryan's team showed up exactly at the agreed upon time and took great care in moving everything that needed to be moved, to give them freedom to work and protect the furniture. Did I mention that the fireplace rises to a height of 18 feet? That said, the first thing Bryan's team accomplished was to set up a shield that ran from floor to ceiling, which protected the rest of the room from flying debris caused by the chiseling of those awful bricks.
Once the bricks were shorn away, they proceeded to put up the 2x4s to accept the sheetrock. As we were also going to place tile around the opening of the fireplace, Bryan's team also put up cement board to protect the wall against heat as well as to form a sturdy base to accept the tile. The work on the sheetrock, cement board, taping and spackling went quickly and without incident.
Like I said nothing in my house is easy. The wave pattern of the tile, as odd as it may sound, was confusing and ultimately had to be laid out on the ground to make sure everything lined up perfectly. In the end all the cuts in the tile were perfect. Painting the wall was also no easy task. The paint we chose was to have a brushed suede effect and had to be applied in a precise pattern - first applied in a "W" pattern, followed by an "X" pattern. When you stand back, the paint work actually looks like brushed suede and you can see the subtle variations in color, all from a single color.
All in all, the finished product looks awesome and Bryan, Josie and their team did an incredible job.
One thing that truly did impress me was Bryan and Josie's communication, presence and follow-up. It was reassuring to know that they were on top of their crew to make sure everything turned out the way we had envisioned.
If anyone asks me if I would recommend Bryan's Handyman and Home Improvement Service, I would say yes in a heartbeat. I promise, you will not be disappointed!
I'm already starting to lineup the next project for Bryan to get started on.
Thank you to Bryan, Josie and all the crews who worked on the project.

After a few days, Bryan contacted me with a written estimate through email. The price seemed reasonable and his reviews on Angie's list offered praise that we felt comfortable.
Three gentlemen on Bryan's team arrived toy house on the scheduled day of service. I was surprised to not see Bryan there with them, but that was not a problem. i just wished i would have known that in advance. The crew was prompt, clean, and professional. They introduced themselves, asked me to walk them through the house to make sure we were on the same page of where we wanted the cable outlets and then they got started. In about two hours, they were finished with both jobs and cleaning up the work spaces. I was thoroughly impressed and appreciated the quality of the work. The lead crew member asked me to inspect the work and if i was satisfied. I was.
I fully recommend Bryan's Handyman & Home Improvement Service. They offered a fair price for quality work and courteous service. I plan to use them again in the future.
