Mazzola's General Contracting

We had engineering reports about the cracked cinderblock bearing wall in our garage.?? Anthony Mazzola had the lowest bid and after discussing it with him I was impressed by his straightforward approach and his use of the engineering analysis with his own experience.? The report from a Johnson Soils engineer said the existing foundation was ok, but poor topsoil fill, frost and water pressure along with faulty original construction (no rebar) had caused the long term cracking.? Anthony was very responsive to our needs and we also accommodated his scheduling issues--but he was very open and sincere about delivering the job to us as promised.? I was very impressed with that and would hire him again in a heartbeat.? The old wall came down, the ceiling came out?and a new wall went up in workmanlike fashion--he screwed plywood over the basement door to secure it during construction.? He then replaced the ceiling and put extra insulation in because I had indicated we had a cold problem with the pipes going through the garage ceiling.? We then agreed to replace the garage floor since it was broken up at one end and this would prevent water coming in from the driveway (he made the floor slightly?higher for us to do this) and provide a cleaner surface for a new garage door to be installed?later by another contractor.? As I said, Anthony Mazzola is as honest and reliable a contractor as you'll ever find.
