He worked on a hourly rate for himself and his men, choosing not to use a fixed rate for a job. He worked as quickly as he could so as to be fair to everyone, which I liked. So far, so good. :) His men were very reliable, too. They worked cleanly, respecting the house, and tried to contain any mess. They cleaned up the remaining debris from the job.
Description of Work: We had several leaks that were repaired successfully. One was a complicated leak in the roof near the chimney, working out how to re-frame that section of the roof line. He replaced most of the flanges on the roof. He sealed the roof of a storage room off the garage.
We have used Frank's Contracting twice now. The first time was for the repair and replacement of the siding on 1/4 of our house. It took several days to remove the old siding, repair the damage beneath, paint and cut the new siding, and install it. Bill's team was efficient and skilled. Bill, the owner, was on hand daily to make sure everything was going to our satisfaction and make sure the work was up to his own high standards. They cleaned the grounds at the end of every day and took extra care to sweep up everything with magnets (to find nails and screws) on the last day. We were pleased with the quality of the work, the work ethic of Bill and his crew, and his communication about what to expect, what needed to be done, and what didn't. So, when our roof needed to be replaced, we didn't hesitate to hire him for the job. Bill explained what work would need to be done, how he would go about it, and showed us samples of the materials he would use. There were a few options for shingles, fascia, etc. that would have an impact on cost and Bill explained the advantages and disadvantages of each. While he was here, we decided to replace all of the gutters with hidden hanger ones. While doing a tear down of the shingles and siding (to replace the flashing), Bill noticed that one of our windows was improperly installed. We took advantage of the situation to replace with the window with a better one and add a bench under it. We also asked him to put in a storage scuttle in the space below the window and above our garage. We mentioned that that particular room seemed to be poorly insulated, so he added some insulation around the area, too. As before, Bill was in constant contact, was on the job daily, and explained what needed to be done, what could be deferred to a later time, and what the advantages and disadvantages were to each choice. Bill was up front about not being the cheapest guy around; he seems to be about average in price. But, his work ethic, craftsmanship, and skilled team were worth it for us.

They did a great job all around. Very neat and clean and the workmanship is top notch. Bill thinks things through very carefully before starting the job and plans it well. He is also very accessible around the clock for questions. I would highly recommend.
Description of Work: Bathroom remodel, chimney removal, roof, siding, windows, sheetrock, painting, trim work, new door.
The owner did an outstanding job. I have never seen a company put so much attention to cleaning up. They did a phenomenal job, our addition surpassed our expectations. Their employees would arrive on time every morning and would not stop working until they left. The owner was on top of everything being done and would explain everything to us and always kept us in the loop. The addition looks like it was on the house before they even started...that's how much of great job they did. The owner really cares about his customers and about the job he does
Description of Work: We had to build an addition to our house. Franks contracting did everything from stone work, framing, sheet rocking, new steps both inside and out, painting, tiling, new bathroom, ceiling, spackle, support beam, roof....and so much more
Bill Frank is the owner of Frank's Contracting and is ALWAYS there every day! Even if there are days his employees are doing the work, he always stops by at the end of the day to check on everything. This is not because he is concerned about their ability, but because he takes pride in his business and wants to assure the homeowner that he is aware of everything that is going on. With that being said, Bill's employees are not just "workers" but artisans and craftsmen just like he is. They are highly trained and skilled in EVERYTHING they do. Bill gives 200% of himself into every part of the business. I have health issues, and he personally took me to a few tile and flooring places because I couldn't drive. That is the kind of person Bill is, caring and compassionate. He treats your house and everything in it, as he would treat his own home. Bill and his crew are METICUOUSLY NEAT and PROMPT. They would arrive on time, work consistently and attentively the entire day. Except for lunch, Bill or his crew didn't take any breaks. All of them are diligent hard working craftsmen. Craftsmen is the best word to describe Bill and the men who work for him. Bill is an artist. He has an artistic eye when it comes to picking out materials and knows the latest trends in decorating today. He has had the same crew working for him for years who are also skilled craftsmen in carpentry, masonry, painting and more. They are all extremely knowledgeable about every aspect of building or fixing ANYTHING in the home. There wasn't one problem that Bill encountered that he could not fix. However, if he had a question about something he didn't hesitate to call in a professional e.g. an engineer when needed. Frank's Contracting takes pride in EVERY JOB, big or small. Bill and his men are so meticulous and detailed orientated that the normal person would never see things Bill or the men would see, and make sue were exactly right. Because of his vast knowledge of all aspects of the home, he often found problems with things in the home that we did not know about, or got bad advice from someone we hired in the past for an unrelated problem. Many times his findings averted serious problems for the future. I never met someone as honest as Bill Frank. He would go over the bill each week with a fine tooth comb, and took so much pride in his work. If something had to be tweaked or fixed, he did what had to be done and didn't charge for it again. I cant believe in this day and age, there is a professional business person who is incredibly skilled, talented, friendly, helpful and honest. I have recommended him to many people. He had the key to my house and would come and go as needed. If there was a problem, even unrelated to the renovation, he would be over at 9:00pm that night to check on it for us. Bill stands by his work, and we will not hesitate to use him again. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND FRANK'S CONTRACTING TO EVERYONE!
Description of Work: Fourteen years ago Frank's Contracting did an amazing job finishing our 2,000 sq ft. basement consisting of the large living space, work out room, full bathroom, storage rooms and multiple storage closets. This past Feb. Bill and his two men crew finished an extensive renovation of our 30+ yr home consisting of a stunning new master bathroom, replacement windows on the top floor, all new six panel bedroom doors, crown floor molding, and a skillfully painted a two floor entranceway. Downstairs, Bill designed and installed a stunning new kitchen with cherry cabinets, adorned with decorative trim that he added to make it go to the ceiling for a gorgeous finished look. Bill was able to have the cabinets go to the ceiling because he removed all the pipes in the ductwork along the entire length of the kitchen, and put it in a small area in the corner where it is unnoticed. A large french slider was put in the kitchen that went into the Florida room outside. The crew put in a stunning glass back splash on top of the unique granite counter top. All the tile had to be replaced in the vestibule, kitchen, powder room and laundry room since it was continuous. They first had to remove three layer of floors before the new tile could be installed. Bill found an affordable patterned Italian porcelain that is the wow factor when you walk through the new double front glass doors they also installed. The downstairs bathroom (powder room) was replaced with new vanity and fixtures as well as painted. The decorative molding was carried through the entire rest of the downstairs. A small broom closet was removed and the laundry room enlarged. Frank's Contracting basically transformed my old house into a gorgeous "new home" that I love to see every day ,and am very proud of. In addition, all the work that has been done will add to the value of my home when we sell it some day.

My neighbors gave me the ref. I would highly recommend him. He added an extension to the back of the house. Kitchen / family room now. He also added a 1/2 bath and did a full foundation on that part of the house. His quote was less than most, he does his own work, he didn't hire subs. He even replaced extra windows. He moved windows because the pitch on the roof came too close to the window. He went above and beyond. I am extremely happy with work. We broke ground on the end of Sept and the job took about 6 mos.

In his ad, he offers free estimates but when I called and spoke to him, he would not give me a free estimate and wanted to charge me $75 and if I used him would he take it off the bill. I don't plan on using him.
