Excellent craftsmanship, professionalism and customer service! Bates Floors refinished our 40-year-old worn, scratched, gouged and discolored floors and transformed them into new looking! Rich and his crew are a pleasure to work with and made the whole process easy. The results exceeded our expectations- we now have smooth and beautiful floors! Richard Bates was clear, thoughtful and creative in his proposal. He was not troubled by our initial wish to recreate the border pattern of the original (as were other contractors we contacted.) This, however, dropped due to cost. The actual removal of the old flooring and re-installation one room at a time as requested by us took slightly over three days. This was right in line with his estimate. Throughout the project there were two to four guys (as needed). They were punctual (eight o'clock), careful, hard-working, careful and skilled. They moved all the furniture from room to room. Javier, the supervisor of the group, ably coordinated the daily work and worked alongside the other guys. He made several very helpful onsite suggestions which made the final appearance of the job better. They cleaned up the job site carefully each day and at the end there was an "all hands on deck" cleanup that in which Richard Bates participated that was awesome. We could not have been happier or more satisfied with the job. One more thing. The cost for job was thousands less than competing bids.

Richard and his team showed up every day at the time they said they would be here.  They were polite and very professional.  They sealed off all the areas where they worked to avoid dust getting in the closets, on the furniture, etc.  After they were finished they were meticulous about putting felt things on the feet of all my furniture to avoid scratching the floor when the furniture is moved.  The team was careful to put all the furniture back where it was originally.  I have to say my husband was not keen on the idea of replacing our carpet with hardwood, but now he loves it!  It has made such a difference in the appearance of our home, and hardwood is a lot healthier than wall to wall carpet.  We are now going to have Bates Floors refinish our downstairs hardwood floors in a few weeks.  I am certain they will do an outstanding job!

Bates Floors exceeded our expecatations on every level. We were moving into a new house and it had miles of carpeting over plyrwood sub floors. Richard Bates and his crew removed all of the carpeting and baseboard, secured the subfloor and installed and finished new hardwood floors on site. They were clean and organized and on time and efficient. Most of all our new floors are beautiful and we love them!
Don't use anyone else!

From start to finish all I can saw is and quot;Phenominaland quot; .. paying meticulous attention to the slightest detail. He put down carpet protectors and used poly sheeting and tape to seal off that room from the rest of our home to keep dust down.

He used a large vacuum during the sanding process even though each tool had it's own vacuum on it.

After completion our floors look AMAZING. I have been in the service industry for 37 years and have never seen anyone so professional, caring and proud of his work.

His workers were very friendly and took ever effort to keep our home neat during this project. His team left our home better than when they started.

They did not rush but took their time and made sure everything was just perfect.

There is not one thing they did wrong to even mention.. Error free and oustanding workmanship.

I would absolutely recommend Richard Bates' company. A true professional.
