The thermostat was fixed. Another problem cropped up during the repair. It took longer than it should have for this to get corrected, and communication to handle it could have been better. We had also asked for a supplier invoice for the installed thermostat part to verify the cost, and we never received it.
My Electrolux Refrigerator just stopped working and we called Westwood Appliance to come and give us an estimate. Kevin said he would come by later that day to take a look at it. He arrived on time and explained in detail the problem that needed to be fixed. We had a cracked ice maker part and the circuit board had blown...Confused as to how this could happen being the refrigerator was only 3 years old, I questioned Kevin and he taught us a lesson on how a refrigerator operates. This impressed us immensely. He didn't have to explain it to us but he took the time to do so.
An estimate was given on Wednesday...the parts were ordered Thursday morning and Kevin was back on Friday to fix it..
I found Kevin to be extremely professional and helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to call him again in the future.
Additionally, he was very loud while talking on the phone, ignoring the fact that I had two sleeping babies upstairs (which my nanny had to remind him of twice). Unfortunately I will never use Westwood appliance again due to the dishonesty and disrespect of which I was treated by someone I was paying a lot of money to.
I called Kevin of Westwood Appliance Service the next night to see if he ever got a price for the board. He said ?let me get back to you in 10 minutes.? I never heard from Kevin again. We ordered a board from an on line appliance parts company with a good return policy. My son put it in but it still gave the same exact error message. Low and behold it was not the electronic board after all. Not only did Kevin of Westwood Appliance Service rip us off for $150.00, he did not have the decency to return my phone call with a price of a new board so he could finish the job.
After a week of waiting for Kevin of Westwood Appliance to call back, I called another appliance service. They were professional, courteous and on time. The technician told me right away that Whirlpool washers are known for the Hub wearing out and that is why it would not spin. He took it apart and showed me the worn piece and explained the job of
putting in a new Hub assembly. He said his boss would get back to me with a price first. They did charge me a fee for walking in the door and taking the machine apart but it half of what Kevin of Westwood charged. The very next morning I received a call from the appliance service company with a price to install a Hub assembly kit. It was steep so I figured I better cut my losses and invest in a new washer. Which I did and I returned the electronic board too.
They replaced it with with new control panel. The control panel is expensive but we had no other option. No problems with it now. No more ice melt issues. Thanks to Westwood Appliance Service.
