Jeff did an amazing job coordinating on a tight schedule. After a slow start due to town variances Jeff was able to meet our deadline. He was on the site daily if not directly working with the tools he was overseeing his subcontractors. The project while small, was fairly complicated. We added onto our existing family room (size dictated by town variances), in doing so we removed three sections of exterior wall. The design called for an open space so a large steel beam and a flitch beam were installed to pick up the existing load. The load was transferred to a new foundation, the addition included 6 new window and a new sliding door leading out to a new deck. In the interior we added new lighting and reconfigured existing lighting a to work in the new space, added a sub panel to carry the additional load as our existing electrical panel was full. Ceilings of the existing room were removed and sound insulation added to quite the upstairs. The new hardwood floors were stitched back and matched to the existing space, sanded and three coats of poly installed. As both my wife and i both work Jeff accommodated our schedule and meet with us in the evenings to go over accomplished work and go over the forecast for the next few days, he even took time to meet with us on weekends if that was the only time we could meet. He brought all the subcontractors in to meet with us before they started work so we would know who was working on the project. We have a 3 year old son and Jeff and all his subcontractors were kind enough to answer all his questions. As the existing family room attached to the kitchen we were very skeptical about having access to it while under the construction process. Jeff coordinated the work flawlessly we were only out of the space a little over two days mainly for the refinishing of the floors. Overall we are very happy with the results of the project. Everything exceeded our expectations the quality of the build, the tight schedule and the minimal interference of our busy lives. Now we can relax without worries in a comfortable space.
Description of Work: Acted as the general contractor for an addition to our family room. Work included foundation, new exterior walls and windows, removal of existing exterior walls, insulation, electric, gypsum, and matching and refinishing existing hardwood floors.

Jeff started my job The 1st week in april. We weren't totally prepared however Jeff helped us to ease into the process. We had to move all our belongings out into a pod in our yard, and filled the basement with the rest. That part was overwhlming but Jeff and his team patiently helped us get through it. He also had to work around a few obstacles Like a baby grand piano, and a refrigerator which he did without complaint. Jeff and his team are extremely professional and polite. They Showed up daily at 7:30am worked until about 5pm 6 days a week. Jeff was contstantly reviewing the plans and would take them home at night to study them. Always coming back with ways to give us more space, and functionality. He pays attention to details and is also very creative. He is a perfectionist, and doesn't leave any stone untuned. I watched my house being built and was able to see the quality of the building and materials. I consider myself a tough critic, however I couldn't find a bad thing to say about Mauzer construction. Jeff is truely a building genius a pleasure to work with, and genially a nice person. Its unfortunate there aren't more builders out there like him but I know there's not. I feel so lucky to have had Mauzer construction build my house and for anyone planning a building project I wouldn't use anyone else.
Description of Work: I met Jeff Mauzer through my contractor. He was the frammer /builder of my addition renovation. The job was a very big, extensive and complicated at times job. We demoed the whole top floor, added a level, renovated the entire down stairs and added on out the back. Jeff came over several times to inspect the house prior to the start of the demolition so there would be know surprises. We had all gotten to know each other prior to the start which was nice.

They were incredibly professional from day one. They installed sturdy dust barriers to prevent dust and mess from entering the other areas of the house. They respected our personal living space and took extra care not to cause any unnecessary intrusion while completing the work in a timely manner. Overall, this was an incredibly, wonderful experience! Mazur construction gave me my own, personal HGTV moment! They were not only professional, neat and clean, Jeff Mazur personally kept me involved (not just informed) in the daily work done on the project by updating me twice a day. He explained in detailed terms that I could understand exactly what was being done. Since the materials were all custom made, there was absolutely no room for error. Mazur Construction paid extraordinary attention to detail. To make the molding, coffer and wainscoting all level, they took the time (without any unnecessary delay) to level the ceiling and to accurately cut with precision and to perfectly install the wainscoting, molding, built-ins and coffered ceiling. As the project unfolded, it became clear that only a highly trained expert at woodwork and molding installation could have the skill and knowledge to make one-shot cuts of custom-made materials to install it in a room that was lopsided. There was a problem with the steps (which by all rights probably needed to be replaced). However, they came up with a creative solution that seemed impossible, but that they made possible at a very modest increase in cost. With all of the time, expertise and work that Mazur Construction put into this project, I think the price of completely transforming my dinning room and hallway was very, very reasonable. Having used Mazur Construction in the past, I can also say there are never any unexplained surprises regarding the cost; if unforeseen problems arise (which happened with the hallway steps), they charge prices that are reasonable, not ones that take advantage of the situation. Even before the project was finished, the work that Mazur Construction had done literally took my breath away. From someone who is a perfectionist, Mazur Construction's work is very, very impressive! I could not have imagined a better outcome!
Description of Work: I am an HGTV junkie who approached Mazur Construction (which I used before on a bathroom/kitchen project) with a design concept, no drawings, only my ideas of how my 1920s dinning room might look with installation of floor to ceiling wainscoting, coffered ceiling, crown molding and custom built-in cabinets. Essentially, every surface of walls and ceiling would be covered by wood molding. I also had wainscoting installed going up the hallway steps. What made this project extremely difficult is the age of the house, the room/hallway was not plumb (perfectly square/even). However, Mazur Construction came in, took extensive measurements on at least four different occasions to ensure all measurements were accurate, and extensively researched the best way to implement my design ideas. Jeff, the owner of Mazur Construction, personally, located a couple of manufacturers, some of which he rejected based on price. Eventually, he located a wood design studio that custom made the wainscoting, the coffered ceiling and built-in cabinets whose price was below the others' price. Since the materials were custom made, there was absolutely no room for error in the installation. Part of the wall, electrical and plumbing also had to be reconfiigured: Mazur Construction made certain that this work was expertly and professionally done.
