Budget Truck Rental Rio Grande NJ

Reserved a 24 foot moving truck a week in advance to move from NJ to SC. Called 2 days prior to confirm per their requirements and truck was set. Called at 9:45am to say we were running late (truck was to be picked up at 9:30). The owner called back to ask when we are picking up and informed us that the truck was not there. They rented out the truck on saturday or sunday but the owner didn't know when or when it would be back. Wanted us to take a 16 foot truck instead which would not work for us, we needed a 24 foot truck. 2 hours and all she had was excuses... she went away for the weekend, didn't print out rentals, the guy working wasn't trained, husband forgot cell phone, no drivers to get me a truck... when she was on the phone (several times) with the reservations manager for the area all she was concerned about was getting paid or partially paid for the truck. Who cares about us. They found a truck in Mays Landing (55 miles away) and we had to drive to Mays Landing ourselves to get the truck. NO COMPENSATION for our problems. No call back like she was supposed to do. When we got to Mays Landing the owner at the Clayton Storage and Truck Rental had no clue what was going on. No one from Rio Grande or from Budget had a called him. He could have rented the truck while we were in route to the place. Long story short, we were supposed to be at our storage unit at 11am to meet the packers. They had to leave the job due to another booked job and we were stuck on our own. Finally at 1pm we were able to get a truck but had another 45 minute drive back to the storage unit and only 4 hours to load a truck since we had to be on the road by 7pm plus no light to load a truck to move. They have caused us to now have to make 2 more runs since we couldn't get what we wanted in the first place. Costing us more money. NEVER use them! Called Budget and the customer service rep really could have cared less. Said she was going to send my complaint but I would not hear from anyone. That the reservations division would repremand them... yeah right. Who cares when money is coming in.
