We originally called Coppola to pump our septic tank as we had recently bought the house. When they arrived, they were unable to find the access point and told us they would have to come back a week later with a machine and dig 3 feet down to find it. Then they would have to put in a riser so that access would be easier in the future. Not knowing any better, we agreed. When they came the next week, they told us they would arrive sometime in the morning. They did not arrive until just after 12. The guy started digging with a small backhoe between two white caps that he said indicated where the septic tank was. He dug for 3 feet, cut through our irrigation line and hit the septic tank 3 feet down but did not find the opening. He then dug in another direction finding the access point to the tank for the laundry/shower. He then dug in the opposite direction finding the access point to the septic tank which was only 3 inches under the surface of the lawn and indicated by the white cap that was visible the entire time. In other words, no need for a backhoe or a riser. Despite the mistake on their part on finding the access point, they still charged us $155 for one hour of labor. They then told us they would come the next day to pump the septic when the expectation was for them to come that same day to do the work. At that point, we hired a different company to pump the septic.

Louis came out and found my septic tank cap which was very difficult to find in the snow and ice.  But he prevailed and did a fantastic job.  After he moved rock, ice and stone to get the cap exposed, he suspected that the prior company had not really pumped me out 4 years ago based on how the cap looked.  He pumped out 1000 of solids and then explained everything properly making prudent suggestions.  I agreed and then had Coppola come out the next day to run Jet streams to unclog any possible lines and then put in a riser to make it easier to find the cap next time.  Vinny and Jack were equally professional and excellent, making sure that the system was good to go.  They explained how and when to use the ccls and made sure I was comfortable with the maintenance procedures.  I will be using them again and highly recommend Coppola Services in NJ from here on in.  Thanks Guys!  Great work

We've been using Coppola Services since we've bought our home.  We have
them out every 2 years to pump out and inspect our septic system.  Our
system is 40 years old and not in the greatest shape.  Coppola has
always worked with us in a honest and professional manner and presented
several options.  Their representatives have always been knowledgeable
and courteous.  The reason for the higher cost of this job than normal is due to the
amount of water they had to pump out of our ailing seepage pit.

Our septic tank backed up on Saturday. I
Coppola and they were very responsive and showed up to pump it. They charge a
little over $300, which was a fair price.
Upon completing the job, the guy told me there's a
problem and that they need to return, because "the lines need to be
jetted" (something he explains needs to be done every few years). Being
that we recently purchased the home and were not sure when that was done last,
we agreed and the charged us additional $600 or so to do that - we paid
and they returned Monday to jet the lines.
When that was done (or so they claimed...), the
guy told me there's another problem and that they need to return with a camera
to check the issue. It sounded 'fishy' and I opt to call the guy who inspected
the septic originally. He came, inspected the lines with the camera (at no
charge) and we discovered that a) they did not even jet the lines, like
they claimed and b) they were overcharging us for the
jetting, if they were to do it...
We ended up hiring someone else to clean the lines
and will never hire these guys again!

I had a problem with my septic system right after Hurricane Sandy. The septic tanks were full and on the verge of overflowing. I called my regular septic company and got no answer, I left a message. Three days later I called Coppola Services for emergency service. They sent a truck right away on Saturday afternoon. The driver pumped the tank and told me the pump was burnt out and the lines were clogged and the baffle was missing. . He reported this to the  office and told me they would be out first thing Monday morning to repair everything. Monday morning everyone showed up promptly and repaired the system.  The guys were really professional and quickly got everything done.. I am very happy with the company and I would recommend them to anyone needing septic service.

Our first call was  on 6/18/2012. We were told the truck would arrive approximately noon on 6/19/2012. At 3pm on 6/19 we called their office and were told the truck had one more stop with a small tank to empty before us and the driver would call when he was on his way. At 3:30 we received a call saying he was on his way. We then received a call at 5ish saying the truck broke down and they would have to reschedule for the next day, 6/20/2012. We were told the driver would be here between 8 and 10 am. At 10:45 we called and asked to speak to a manager. Someone named Dan told us that the truck was on it's way, they were finishing up their current job 20 minutes away and the driver would call when he was on his way. He seemed very unconcerned on the phone when we voiced our frustration at having been put off two days in a row (very costly for the self employed). The truck arrived finally at 11:30am 6/20. The driver was very pleasant and extremely courteous. He was efficient and had the hole dug, lid off, tank pumped and hole refilled in less than 90 minutes. This with minimal disruption to our yard or our work as we work from home. He was, however, pushing a product for the septic system which we clearly stated we were not interested in as we already had a different product we were happy with. We did wind up having more to pump out than originally thought but it cams to MUCH more than we were originally quoted.
Perhaps it is because I worked for a company for 23 years that put customer service first, perhaps it's because my husband and I have an Orange County based small business for the last 30 years but, I felt with holding us up all day yesterday we should have been the first stop on their list or at least should have been visited within the time frame they gave us this morning. We are a first time customer. Your first service call with a customer can easily wind up being your ONLY service call with that customer. If this had been my customer I would have offered free shipping or a free piece or automatically given a discount the minute I had to reschedule.

They charge more than anyone else in the area. He referred me to an un-licensed engineer. He told me that they stopped giving people his name 18 months ago; however, in this time frame was when they gave me this guys name (the engineer).
