We recently received the keys to our new home and we owe a huge thanks to David Gubb. We cannot over-emphasize how much he helped us with our first home buying experience. We started looking in January 2021, completely unaware how difficult the next 18 months were going to be. Being novice homebuyers in a unique real estate market, we were not prepared for the ferocious competition. David came through for us time and time again during this challenging process. My wife and I have purchased several homes and have worked with countless top realtors. Carol Thomas is an detail-oriented, experienced and dedicated realtor. She helped me coordinate the sale of my family home in Woodcliff Lake after I moved my father into assisted living near where I reside in Connecticut. Long distance sales can be challenging, and Carol handled it all with perseverance and intelligence. We worked with Kaitlin Dunn as our buyer's agent. Without her my wife and I would never have purchased our dream home in Ridgewood, NJ. In short, she demonstrated repeatedly that she cared as much about the home buying process as we did, as opposed to just wanting to make a sale. Having grown up in northern NJ Kaitlin has impeccable local knowledge, and a substantial network of contacts. This made the most annoying parts of the home buying process go very smoothly. From the beginning she was extremely helpful and responsive, and went out of her way throughout the entire process to coordinate between all parties involved (sellers agent, lawyers, inspection companies, etc.). She was straightforward and always put our needs first. We bought an old home (built in the early 1900's) so we needed some extra inspections done, and Kaitlin's contacts were a huge help in getting everything done quickly and efficiently. Upon finding some significant issues, Kaitlin worked with the sellers side to make sure we were able to receive an adequate credit and was crucial in moving the purchase forward to closing in a way that was satisfactory to all parties involved.

Being a first time home buyer, we tirelessly scoured Northern NJ for a whole year to find a town that fit our lifestyle. We needed an easy commute to NYC for work and a walking distance to town center and elementary schools. During that time, we either find good location with mediocre houses or bad location with good houses. Within 4 weeks of working with David, he found us the perfect balance of both location and house in Glen Rock. He made sure he understood what we needed as a family, and he shared his vast knowledge of how each town in Bergen differ from each other. David was the second realtor we dealt with after we ended up losing a house that we were under contract for because our previous agent recommended a poor lawyer and could not deal with any of the issues that arose in an effective way. At the time, I didn’t even realize that this is where the real estate agent you work with really matters. Of course David was also very reliable with scheduling visits, patiently taking us to multiple houses (including the day after his bachelor party) and listening to us discuss why none of them are good enough. He was also good at telling me why some of the houses I wanted to look at would be a waste of time, based on our criteria. But most importantly David’s strength came through when it was time to buy. The negotiation, the people he recommends (lawyer, inspector, mortgage broker, etc..), who work with him on a regular basis and who will make sure they treat his client well are the most important things in a real estate transaction and David seems to know everyone who is involved and have a strong relationship with them. And when, inevitably, issues do arise, one text and David would magically “take care of it”.

Chris is amazing. She helped my husband and me find the perfect home in Ridgewood. We were moving from a brownstone in Brooklyn to a house in the suburbs, to an area neither of us was familiar with, and Chris was exceptional. There is not enough space to describe what a wonderful realtor and person Chris is. She is extremely respectful and kind and also tenacious and tough (for you) when needed. She is always available, even late at night, while she is on vacation, and last minute. She takes her time to find out what is important to you and what perspective and taste you have before jumping in to offer her own opinion. That said, she is really an expert in real estate and in the areas we were looking in. When we asked for her opinion, she was able to provide spot-on guidance that reflected her expertise, but accounted for our tastes and interests. She noticed things in homes that my husband and I did not even think to look at. Even though it might have been easier and more convenient for her to not point out some of the hesitations she might have had about a house, she was always looking out for our best interest. We always felt that Chris was protecting us and working extremely hard for us—even when we were demanding or difficult. We were introduced to Chris through a family member who had worked with Chris in the past, and we have already recommended her to several people we know. It would not surprise me if she was kept very busy simply through word-of-mouth. As crazy as it sounds, if I were considering a few different areas, the ability to have Chris be our realtor would be a large factor in where we decided to purchase—she was that amazing. After we closed on our house and after Chris’ job was arguably over, she still stayed in contact with us, helping us with everything from a good painter, chimney sweep and electrician to a good restaurant to grab lunch, salon to cut my hair and a drycleaners. Literally, each and every recommendation she gave us was researched by her before being passed along to us. We have purchased several properties in different areas and had very good experiences in the past, but Chris really is exceptional. Needless to say, we recommend her without hesitation and although we hope not to be moving again, we would 100% work only with Chris again.

Chris was fantastic! She sent weekly (and sometimes daily) updates of homes that fit our search criteria, and gave us her expert opinion on pricing, location, and features of each house we considered. She was generous with her time and knowledge. In the end, she helped us to purchase a home that we LOVE! Chris helped to hand-hold through the purchase process and recommended a great team of support people including our attorney, inspectors, and even financing. Being new to the area, we could not have done it without her, and doubt anyone else could have taken such good care of us.
