RIDGEWOOD APPLIANCE SVC

prob started apprx 4 wks ago- refrig stopped but freezer OK. After srvc call restart and some strategic "knocking", refrig started running. Was making some odd noises and after 4 wks stopped again. We did some "knocking", placed call and it restarted but stopped later. Quick exam and knocking by Warren/RA got it started again and we had to order new fan motor. We kept up the knocking routine as necessary for apprx 48 hrs until new fan motor was installed. All good now. Note: We recd credit for first svc call visit.

After replacing a circuit board a second time in less than two weeks, the Ridgewood Appliance repairman (Warren) said he did not know how to repair the dishwasher and ran out of the house. I followed him to the driveway and said I would like some of the $300 returned. He said he would return some of the money but to date nothing has been received. Ridgewood Appliance was not able to solve the problem with the appliance. Warren of Ridgewood Appliance said some money would be returned but he did not follow up on his promise. I would strongly recommend that no one use this repair service company.

I've had them twice and they did the job and I'm satisfied with the work that was done. They were excellent. They were prompt and professional.

Warren came to our home within an hour of my call.  He diagnosed the problem with the dryer (something small had gotten caught in the dry drum mechanism).  He quickly got the problem solved and charged me only for the service call.  Very good experience and I will definitely call him again if we have another problem with our appliances.

He was great. They did the problem right away. They are fair in price.

This is my second time using Ridgewood Appliance (Warren) for an appliance repair.
Last year (11/30/2013) dryer repair (replaced thermal fuse).
This year (7/1/2014) washer repair (replaced the coupler).
My experience on both occasions we exceptional.
Warren returned my call promptly, schedule appointment for next day, showed up on time, is extremely knowledgeable and had the needed parts on hand.

Warren called me back promptly. He came to repair the fridge about one hour or so after he called me back - excellent service.
He diagnosed the problem and fixed it right away. While he was working, he explained clearly what the problem was and replaced the fan motor. Great work and very professional.

Overall it was more than I had expected to pay but the serviceman was very efficient, professional and to the point., He cleaned up after himself and left the laundry in perfect shape.

I called about a noise in my dishwasher
he came almost at once. Checked it cleaned it up and will try to get a price on a new motor. Was nice enough to tell me that the the noise will not really cause a problem. No to worry about the noise while he checked out the motor

Punctual and professional received parts next day

We called on a Monday, he arrived the same day, diagnosed the problem quickly, and repaired it within about a half hour. Very efficient and professional service.

Everything I read here on Angies list about Ridgewood appliance is true ...Fast rsponse, on time, he knows his bussiness, has the parts, neat clean and fast......

He returned my call promptly and he was able to come quickly. He was knowledgeable and honest.

Oven door would not close. Another company said the parts were not available anymore. Verified on-line. Called Ridgewood Appliance on 7/8/2010. Appointment was for afternoon of the 9th. Warren the owner and repairman came early. He had the parts with him and was able to repair the door. Asked him about the ice-maker. He had a replacement with him and installed it. He noticed that one of the lights was not working. He replaced the switch. Without question this was the best experience we have ever had with repair of a major appliance

Very well. Talkative, but focused. There wasn't much to do, as the problem was resolved with resetting a switch under the D/W. However, he knew about the switch, I didn't. No parts, no muss and no fuss. So it seemed a bit expensive for the work performed, but again, he knew where to look, not me.

I thought his prices were a little high. He doesn't charge by the hour, he charges a flat fee. He did a good job. He was punctual and personable.

Warren does everything right and nothing wrong: 1. He arrived the same day I called, on Dec. 26. 2. He called me when he was about 15 minutes away. 3. He came over during the time window that he promised. 4. He immediately went to work and solved the problem. 5. He did not try to charge me for work I didn't need. 6. He cleaned up afterward. 7. He has a pleasant personality and is a good businessman. 8. He is very smart and knowledgeable. 9. He is our appliance repair person from now on.

Warren came soon after I called. He got right down to business diagnosing the problem. He spotted the problem, went to his truck for the parts and was done in 30 minutes. He also offered helpful advice on making my dryer safer.

I noticed my refrigerator was making a noise I'd not heard before. Soon the noise stopped and then I realized the refrigerator was not cooling. (The freezer did work). When I called Ridgewood Appliance Service at 8:15 a.m. I got an answering machine - left a message and within a 1/2 hour I got a call back from Warren who came promptly, replaced the evaporator fan motor and charged my $272.85. This seems like a lot of money, but it's a lot cheaper than a new refrigerator and he was knowledgeable and smart. He and his dad own the business and they do a great job.

Very fast service. Called on Saturday morning and came over to house in early afternoon. Friendly, polite and knows appliances very well.

We were happy with the work that this man did for us looking into what was wrong with the dryer but would have liked it if he accepted our request to take off his shoes when he entered our home. He said he couldn t for some reason so we let it slide. Other than that, he was very responsive to our questions and honestly told us that it would have been better off if we bought a new dryer instead of fixing this one. He didn t charge us for the call so I can't really grade him on that.

THEY ARE EXCELLENT. THEY RESPONDED TO MY CALL RIGHT AWAY AND WERE HONEST WITH ME. THEY DID NOT TRY TO CHEAT ME OUT OF MONEY BY TELLING ME THAT THEY COULDN'T FIX IT. THEY ARE FRIENDLY AND KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING.
