From the start they were very helpful and nice. Patiently explains the process, answering questions, helping us decide on granite at. Scheduling was pretty easy. A little bit of a glitch when we scheduled. We went on a Wednesday morning to pick the slab and outline the design. The guy we worked with (I forget his name) was very good. He pointed out the best way to cut the slab in order to highlight the best parts. Very knowledgeable. We scheduled the install for the next day. An hour later they called and said they would not be able to start until Tuesday. Annoying, but stuff happens.
The install was fine. Again, professional, clean and courteous.
Now the bad part. Once everything was done. we started to use the kitchen. The first time we opened the dishwasher door, the dishwasher tipped out of the opening. It still worked although a lot louder because of the vibration. Now we have to be very careful with it.
It took me until yesterday to get back down there to talk to them. I went in and was asked if they could help. I told them what a great job we thought they had done except for this one thing. The guy was very nice but said they had nothing to do with that. They didn't touch appliances. I pointed out that they obviously have to deal with appliances. The guy who took out the old counter had to disconnect it from the counter. No very professional to make a statement that is patently untrue.
I pressed. He was still very nice and went to speak with his manager. He came back and took me to the manager. In contrast to the first guy the manager was a jerk. I believe his name was Michael. He repeated the story about not touching appliances. He then made the absurd statement that we must have done something when we removed the counter. It would have been a little brighter to check and see who did the counter removal before making that statement. I pointed out that they did the removal. He backpedaled and repeated the "we don't touch appliance".
Again I pointed out that it didn't tip out before and now it does. He asked when they did the installation. He said it was almost a month ago. How did he know we didn't do something to it in that time? So, now I'm lying to him?
Another "manger" jumped in to reiterate that "we do not touch appliances". He kept saying my contractor could do it. I don't have a contractor on call. He explained how to brace it so it would not fall out. I asked with what. He said he could get me a brace. He leaves and comes back with a brand new, off the shelf, dishwasher brace. Interesting that they have that readily available even though "they don't touch appliances".
I managed to fix it but this whole thing was absurd. All it would take was a quick visit to rectify the problem and keep a customer happy. We were going to discuss another project with them but we will go elsewhere now. Additionally, I am in real estate. Clients are always asking for referrals for contractors and vendors of various types. Despite the early good impression, I will hesitate to recommend these guys.
"Mr. [Member Name Removed], I'm sorry for the troubles you've experienced with the dishwasher. It is our company policy to not attach our stone surfaces to dishwashers or other appliances. You will find that in article 2.4 of the "Additional Terms" section in our "All Granite and Marble Corp. Installation Terms and Conditions" that was given to you before the installation. We apologize if there was a misunderstanding of our the policy that reconnecting the dishwasher to the countertops is the responsibility of the homeowner. We were able to give you a brace for attaching the dishwasher because we our neighbor is a countertop care company entitled, Mr. Stone. We are pleased to learn that you were able to resolve the situation. The employee mentioned as being rude is no longer employed with us."
So mixed review overall- the inital meet and final meet went well but the in between was very annoying- and I also dont like haiving to write a bank check for the remainder of the deposit- feels unsafe and shady.
I contacted their central store, directly, not the local store. They did finally come out and fix my problem after about six contacts but I still would not recommend anyone deal with the local store, here. The problem should not have been there to start with but once they committed to fix it they were on time and took care of it.
They were totally well organized from the tour of stoneyard to installation. Online estimator was almost accurate. Communication by e-mail was very prompt. As our general contractor referred them to us, we recommend them to anyone.
All in all they did a great job and I am extremely satisfied with their work. I've seen some reviews that were not very positive, but i had nothing but a great experience with them and would recommend them to anyone. Our new countertops are beautiful!
The installers did a good job although they were rushing a bit as we were the last install of the day. The window section of which the edge sets on top of the L shaped piece, needed to be trimmed about 1/4and quot; to make it fit better. They removed it and brought it out to the driveway where they field cut it. The piece fit perfectly and the joint looks like a machine cut it, well done! We also liked the ability to go to the yard and pick out our exact stone and request one unsightly black vein was left out of our counter tops, which they did.
We were renovating our entire house and had actually already ordered granite countertops from a major retail home improvement store. But after we visited All Granite and Marble, we cancelled the order with the other store right away.... the fact that we get to physically see, touch, and select the slab ourselves at All Granite and Marble was a HUGE factor in our decision to go with them. I really can't stress how important that is, because it allowed us to ascertain the quality, color, pattern we were going to get.
We initially ordered granite countertops for our 2nd floor kitchen and marble countertops for two bathrooms. We were so happy and satisfied with the quality and the service that we went back the following week and ordered all the countertops for the rest of the house (one more kitchen and one more bathroom). I would DEFINITELY use them again!
MORE DETAILS:
1. Well-staffed, knowledgeable, helpful, friendly
2. Super fast turnover time: takes 10-15min for an estimate (if you have approx. dimensions of your cabinets). Once you select the slab of stone yourself, they cut and install within 2-3 days (maybe even less if you have a small project). Entire project from beginning to end can be done within a week's time (from estimate, to choosing your stone, to scheduling measurement appointment, to final selection of slab, to installation).
3. Actual process and timeline: you select the stones you like from the samples in the showroom, right away someone can bring you to the stone yard behind the office so you can look at the actual physical slabs. You can decide right there and schedule a measuring appointment or you can bring samples with you back home to see how it looks. When you're ready, call to schedule an appointment for them to come to your home and take actual/final measurements. Usually they come the next day or within 2 days. Measuring takes about an hour (depending on size of room, we had a pretty large kitchen). After they take measurements, you go back to the stone yard to pick the slab they will actually cut your countertop from. Once you make your final selection, schedule the installation and everything is done within 2-3 days.
