RED BANK SLEEP SHOPPE

I went through a lengthy period of research and shopping prior to settling on this bedding. Do visit showrooms where you can see and test the bedding for yourself.  It seems the bedding industry has conspired to confuse shoppers with myriads of fancifull names for similar products to prevent comparisons of price and quality.  After I decided on one of the Simmons Beautyrest sets, I went to the website (beautyrest.com) and obtained the telephone number to contact customer service for basic information about the various models.  I visited some of the well advertized bedding outlets including a local Sleepy's showroom.  I suspect the manufacturers' list prices are about four times the wholesale cost of the bedding as some discounts approach 50%.  Beds are an item that requires carefull shopping and negotiations to obtain a fair price.  I began to ask friends and family what beds they have and how they liked them.  I also asked for recommendations about outlets. 
Tom, one of ththe owners of The Red Bank Bed Shoppe was referred to me by my daughter-in-law's uncle, who runs a furniture business himself. I was able to obtain straight forward information about the bedding and test a sample on the show room floor. The price of the bedding we purchased at The Red Bank Bed Shoppe was substantially, below quotes by Sleepy's. Further, I knew the specifications and quality level for the product that was delivered. The delivery was made on time as per our appointment. The delivery people were curtious, efficient and carefull not to bump or damage items along the path to our bedroom. My home was built in 1934 and the stairway to the second floor bedrooms is narrow enough to make the delivery of a king sized mattress very difficult without damaging the mattress. The delivery people removed the old king mattress with finess and setup the new bedding. It all took about fifteen minutes.
Although, The Red Bank Bed Shoppe is located in Red Bank, NJ, Tom mentioned that he does deliver to other parts of New Jersey and New York City to accommodate referrals from his customers.
I would do business with Tom and The Red Bank Bed Shoppe again and happily recommend them to friends and family.  In many ways this was the best experience for this type of transaction.

After I left I found out that the salesman had misrepresented the quality and contents of the mattress. I canceled the order right away. The purchase has not yet been credited back to my account. He will not return my calls.
