Horrible experience. Gerry and his wife mean well, but they successfully wasted 3 months of my time. I cannot express in words the amount of frustration and stress these two put me through. Countless phone calls and empty promises from Joan. They never met a deadline. I drove twice, 30 minutes from my house (with a baby and toddler in my car) to pick up surveys because two adults were incapable of driving or sending the documents to my pool contractor. And the survey was never even able to be used! I had to hire a new surveyor to do the job. The new survey was done in a week and was digital. Gerry?s survey was drawn by hand, outdated and most importantly - useless. They should have never taken the job and should have never requested the money UPFRONT. It was a scam - they should be ashamed of themselves, esp Joan. Gerry is experiencing early signs of dementia and Joan has not stopped him from working. Do your future customers a favor, save face and PLEASE RETIRE!

BUYER BEWARE! His wife called to set everything up and told me they would come out to do my boundary survey, we picked a date and they told me it would take a week or two after that to get the paperwork to me and to have a check ready for $770. They came out while I was at work so my wife gave them the check and I looked at my cameras to see what they had done. He got out of his car (barely) and picked up the check, hobbled across the street and waved his marker and over the corner property on the other side of the road and left. Two days went by without hearing anything so I called them thinking surely this wasn?t enough to draw my whole property with measurements as he hadn?t taken any or even gone into my back yard. The wife informed me they only had come to scout the job but didn?t actually do the survey so we picked a new date the following week to have the actual survey work done. Fast forward a week they pull up again together and this time I am home. Car covered bumper to bumper in bird poo he opens the door, can barely walk and goes into his trunk for his wand. I introduce myself and try to make small talk about the job as I?m genuinely interested in what it requires to do this and he just starts digging. First in my yard then the neighbors yard then across the street in their front yard then 2 houses down, 3 houses down across the street, 5 houses down across the street, using his wand to look for property marks. The work I am doing is between the side of my my house and my neighbors fence mind you. He gets back in his car without setting a steak or using any type of measuring tool so I ask ? hey, I unlocked the gate to the side of the house? (there the work will be done) do you need to get back there for any measurements? He says ?no, I?ll come back again for that, but let me see something? then in front of me proceeds to call another survey guy to ask him if he has already completed surveys of my property. They leave telling me they will call me back to schedule a day for measurements. Another week goes by without hearing anything so I call again. ?Oh we?ve been so busy, we need to come back out for measurements? I tell them any day is fine. Another week goes by I call again ?oh we will have the survey ready for you tomorrow? we don?t need to do any measurements?. How do you draw an accurate boundary survey with measurements if you haven?t taken any? Well tomorrow comes and another week goes by and they call me this time ? we will have it for you tomorrow? another two days they call again ?we will have it for you tomorrow? another two days go by ?first thing in the morning we will have it to you? that night when I get home the survey is finally in my mailbox. How accurate it is? I?m not sure because not a single thing was ever measured, I?m willing to bet they got an old copy from someone else and just traced over it and slapped their name on it but currently it is submitted to the town and I am praying they accept it. Also to note and it could just be that my neighbors put their fence way on their property but the areas I am having work done is between my house and my neighbors fence which currently is 10.5 feet from my house. His survey shows my property is only 8.16 (pretty exact number for not measuring anything) from my house to the line. I am looking to get my yard paved between my neighbors fence and my house but according to his survey I can see the town only approving me for 8 ft off my house which will leave a 2.5 foot gap and look weird and if that?s my property it is what it is but I do not trust what I paid $770 for. This man was most likely good 50 years ago but he can?t barely hear or walk or move anymore. Please find someone more reputable and save yourself the stress.

Gerald incorrectly marked the corner markers of our property. We installed a new fence thinking the property was correctly marked. We had a huge argument with our neighbors because the property line Gerald marked was incorrect. I had to hire two additional surveyors that concurred that Gerald line was incorrect and had to pay the fence company to move our fence to the correct position. So far, Gerald will not compensate me for his costly error. He claims that he does not carry E and O insurance which I thought was a requirement for land surveyors. Do not hire this man. He should retire.

They committed to price and then raised it. I paid them ( before work began, because they insisted). I insisted on receipt and then they forgot that I paid them. It has been 3 weeks and they still have not completed the survey (the property is 50x100. When communicating with the surveyor his wife is constantly in the background interrupting and yelling. Totally unprofessional.

Took 5 trips to finish job, hounding for the payment way before job was close to being finished. He is nice but be careful with her

Very nice at first meeting. The gentleman could barely walk our property. His wife, who seemed to be in charge, turned out to be nasty and bitter. Came to our property twice and were only concerned with their payment and did not complete the work. Do not hire this man.

Very detailed and professional. Kept me updated on the progress and completed the work on time and great finished project.

Gerald and his wife Joan are the kindest most down-to-earth people we've met in a long time. From the moment we spoke with Joan and then Gerald, we felt comfortable and knew he would handle our survey project with care and in a timely manner and that's exactly what he did. He kept us updated from start to finish and made the whole process seamless. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Gerald and his wife Joan. They make a great team.

I utilized this service back in January and it was a very good experience. Mr. Bracht and his wife Joan, are very nice people. He came out to take a look at the property. He is very knowledgeable, thorough and reasonable priced. I received a detailed map of the property when the survey was completed;it was done by hand. His wife explained that he has been doing this work for a very long time.

Very quick response, professional. Would recommend them to anyone needing a surveyor or a flood elevation certificate.

Extremely pleased with Gerry Brechtâ s professional services. He was the only surveyor who offered to visit our property before offering a very reasonable price proposal. Field work was extremely thorough and with much attention to detail. His research allowed him to find other monuments on adjacent properties so that he could confidently establish our property corners. I felt he and especially Joan went above and beyond to keep us informed of when they would be at our property (over several visits), and providing our mapping on time and when promised.. I would definitely use them again if the need arose!!
