Powerwashed. No sanding or other prep of old painted surface. Paint began peeling after one year. Painters returned for touchup but peeling continued and now will require house to be completely repainted. New paint estimator states that previous painter did not properly prepare surface of old paint which led to early peeling. Price was reasonable and had good results with Certapro in New York but would not use this paint service again.

I contacted CertaPro via email and within a day I received a response.     The salesperson who came to give an estimate was prompt, knowledgeable, and extremely courteous.    He promised to give a quote that evening or the next day and I received it via email that evening.    I contacted five other painting contractors, one was a no show, and another who had been recommended by someone took forever to get back to me.     The CertaPro proposal for the job was in the mid-range of the proposals I received.    The cost was approximately $6,400, but $400+ was NJ sales tax.      The house was built in 1926 with an unusual double layer of cedar shakes and the original wide molding wood windows (33 windows in all in the house and garage).    The company uses Sherwin Williams exterior paints.  The quote was for SW Resilience.  

After I made my decision to go with CertaPro I went to Sherwin Williams to pick out a color which took more time than I thought it would.  You can buy samples of SW paint which I did and put some on the house before making the color decision.    You really do need to do this step because small chips just don't do it for giving you the whole picture of how your house will look.    The Sherwin Williams store staff was very helpful in describing the paint.    I'd thought that I might want to do a more eggshell than flat paint on the house, which CertaPro said they could do but the Sherwin Williams store manager told me that was not a good choice for older shakes because it would show imperfections and flat would give a nicer look.  Once I decided on the color I emailed CertaPro to say I'd chosen their company and received a response the next business day from the office manager who asked me how best to contact me, i.e. via phone, email, text etc.    She said that once I was on the schedule the painting crew would come to power wash and scrape and spot prime, and then the house would need to dry for approximately two days before they could begin painting. 

For the power wash segment (1 day) I didn't need to be home, just needed to close all the windows and make sure they had access to water to use with their power wash The painting crew arrived early each morning and worked diligently each day.  It took three days to complete the painting,  and then they came back to do the front and side doors.     The house was in bad shape and the windows and trim hadn't been scraped, cleaned or painted in a while.  There was significant peeling.  They put two coats of Sherwin Williams Resilience Flat on the body of the house, and two coats of Sherwin Williams Resilience gloss on the doors and trim.  The result is transformative.    The crew was very polite and courteous, and extremely neat.  Each night they picked up their equipment and left the area clean and I wasn't expecting that even though they said they would do it in their proposal.  I really appreciated that they took care with the plantings of camellias and rhododendrons we have around our house. 

Prior to having the house professionally painted by CertaPro we had always painted the house ourselves.    What a difference a professional job makes.    I would definitely recommend them.  The whole process was seamless and the result wonderful.    One of the lower estimates I received was tempting but it meant I would have to go and pick up the paint, and probably figure out how much to buy.  That just wasn't an option for me.    They had a little paint left over and gave it to us in case we wanted to touch things up in the future.      I would definitely use this company again.

the outside took longer because we had to wait for 3 days of non rain....
but, even my neighbors said ...they were done really quick...and we had our colors picked by a colorist

Bathroom was in bad shape partly due to my poor waiting job a few years ago.  Certapro fixed everything and even cleaned up past i had missed when I painted.  Overall the room looks brand new.  I highly reccomend Certapro and will use them again soon.  My painting days are officially over.

Perfect.  The job was completed quickly and professionally. I wish to note that this was the second job done for us by CertaPro of Eastern Monmouth County.  In April, 2014, they stained a newly rebuilt deck, painted a den to include accent walls and painted virtually all of the wood trim in our house.  They did a great job in 2014.  That's why we hired them back in 2015. My opinion...you can't beat them in quality and price.

Promptly provided estimate thAt was clearly written,included l materials and paint. The service was scheduled immediately,they even would have come two days after the estimate. They were quiet,courteous,and cleaned up everything.

Price for power wash and two coats of paint was significantly lower than other estimates. Crew arrived on time and was very thorough and  professional. They were extremely neat and cleaned up after each day completing the job in three days. I would definitely recommend them for exterior work.

Their service turned out very well.  The owner who has the franchise is very nice.  We selected the ones we liked.  It is a husband and wife. They work well together and they do a fine job.  They were very neat.  They cleaned up; they kept tarps on the floor.  You cannot fault it.  I set high standards and I believe they matched it.  They were all on time.

One man arrived late in the day, while stripping the deck and power washing sprayed the stripper on the house and bushes. Did not remove all the stain left early. I had the contractor come to the house he examined the work and agreed that it was totally unprofessional. Two weeks later without notice 3 men arrived at 11am to complete the job. Since I did not expect them this day I left the house to keep an appointment. Upon my return at 2pm the men were gone. They left my hoses strewn about the lawn. There were empty stripper containers on the lawn along with the caps. When removing the stripper with the power washer they sprayed the house with the residue removing stain from the house. My patio and brick paver walkway and my grill were covered with stripper. Needless to sat I was quite angry. I called the contractor to come and see the results of his crew but did not hear back from him. Several days later I called and left a message stating that they will not be allowed to complete the job as it was unprofessional from the begining. The estimate was $2200.00. No money was paid but so it was a bad experence. I would not recommend that company.

While on the phone, I overheard Ed Marshall ask if "it was a nice house" as this was somehow an indicator of what we should be charged. When I questioned him about it, he backed off on the price (we had also agreed to remove all of the doors and hardware). The job was done quickly and neatly; however, they forgot to paint the inside of all of the cabinet doors. Ed immediately sent someone out to finish the job; however, all of the cabinets were leaned up against a wall in our breezeway to dry and the edges ended up not getting painted. We had difficulty getting Ed to return our call, which forced us to call his manager. After we reached the district manager, Ed called back immediately claiming that none of the numbers we had given him were functional. We hung all of the doors back up and asked Ed to send someone in for touch up. They arrived promptly and completed the job; however, they forgot to paint one last door and when doing so, the leaned wet door (navy blue) on our white wall, leaving a huge mark.

I hadn't moved into the house yet. I chose my colors, gave my deposit and handed Ed the keys and he took the reigns from there. Everything was painted perfectly.

They were a little slow with the responsiveness, but their work was very good. I would highly recommend them. They were also very honest; left the house and didn't worry about anything.

THEIR SERVICE WAS OUTSTANDING, IT WAS THEIR ATTENTION TO DETAIL. THEY WERE EXTREMELY AMBITIOUS. THEY WENT OUT OF THEIR WAY FOR CUSTOMER SATISFACTION AND I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM.

THEY DID WHAT THEY WERE SUPPOSE TO DO AND IN THE TIME FRAME THEY WERE SUPPOSE TO DO IT. THEY DID A VERY GOOD JOB. THEY TRIED TO MAKE US AS HAPPY AS POSSIBLE. THEY WERE CONSTANTLY ASKING FOR OUR OPINIONS.

IN THE END, I WAS HAPPY WITH THE WAY IT LOOKED. THEY WORKED QUICKLY AND WERE VERY NEAT. THEY SHOWED UP ON TIME AND THE PRICE THEY CHARGED WAS REASONABLE.

THE EXPERIENCE WAS SATISFACTORY. OVERALL, THE JOB WAS DONE WITHIN A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME. I HAD TO CALL THEM A FEW TIMES TO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT FOR THEM TO GIVE ME AN ESTIMATE, BUT ONCE THE WORK WAS UNDERWAY IT WAS SATISFACTORY.
