"After my wife and I sent the initial appraiser a 5-6 page request for reconsideration as we felt his opinion on the value of our home was quite low, the appraiser removed himself. Lynn from AA Appraisals then came in and appraised our home. She was professional, thorough and looked at/factored things that the previous appraiser did not. The appraisal report Lynn sent us was extremely detailed. I highly recommend AA Appraisals."

Whether or not new windows increase property taxes depends on where you live and by how much your upgrade increases your home’s value. Smaller projects likely won’t result in increased property taxes, but it’s always a good idea to err on the side of caution and check. Contact your local county appraisal department for the most accurate information about property taxes in your area.

The purpose of the home appraisal determines which party pays for it. You’re generally responsible for the cost if you need to know the current value of your home to refinance your mortgage, though in some instances the lender will pay for it. The buyer pays for the appraisal when they are applying for their mortgage.

Yes, home appraisers look at your windows when appraising your property to determine the market value of your home. They’ll factor in the type of windows, quality, condition, whether or not there are screens covering the windows, frame materials, size, insulation, and more to come up with an unbiased property assessment.
