Dalar Contracting LLC

Awful. I have reported him to the police and the NJ division of consumer affairs. He came a month ago to give an estimate of $4300.00 to skimcoat two ceilings. I told him the price was too high and I would not be using him, he started harassing me a month later and I then told him that I hired a painter who would do the same work for $1300.00 He then became enraged and threatened to come to my house to shake me down for money for his estimate time. At no time did he ever provide any written estimate or invoice for me to sign or ever tell me that his estimate would cost money.

Dalar contracting was contracted to do a kitchen renovation which included demo of existing kitchen and install all New walls, floor, appliances and cabinets. However, they never finished the job. The original estimate was great, but then work order kept changing and up charges added... When work was not needed that was part of the estimate there was no credit given. When we did not want to use their cabinet guy, we were given an attitude that was unacceptable. the cabinets from his place were not real solid wood, and were coming from china, yet more expensive then the place we used which supplied real solid wood cabinets and were made in america. Overall attitude was unprofessional and poor the entire time. There were many days that the team was not on site, sometimes a whole week would pass. As time went on he was less responsive to my calls. I feel I was taken advantage of over and over. We had to terminate Dalar contracting because we felt he was being dishonest with the price changes and the job was only supposed to take 3-4 weeks, so after 3 months we decided to move on. Work was performed that was different than discussed. And other work was performed that was not discussed at all. And we were up-charged for both. David had something to complain about every day and always threatened an up charge when complaining. He was very sarcastic and rude made unprofessional comments. I remember a specific comment about the cabinet install when he said, "I know what that means, more work for me," referring to the diagram provided by the cabinet place. Another specific response to a request we had discussed that was not complete, he said "well we did it this way because we were done with the demo which was too much work, and did not want to demo the hallway". Could you imagine if you said that to your boss?? I never felt like I was the client. I felt like he belittled me on numerous occasions. I had read good reviews for Dalar contracting and decided to go with them, so I am writing this review to hopefully prevent other people from ending up in the same position as me. With an incomplete project and no home to live in.
