The installation was partially completed, so that the AC and Heat works before we can close on our house in June 2013. The humidifier units were not completely finished. At the time, the summer and fall didn't require a humidifier and I was flexible to accept Mr. G to come back to finish the install at a later time. I was adamant that they complete in the fall and definitely before the winter when heating was used. September came around. I called Bill to make sure his guys can come to wire the humidifiers. After about of month of trying to schedule them to come, they finally showed up in October. Unfortunately, the day they were free to come was the same day my wife had to take our child to the doctor's office, which meant I had to stay home to be with the HVAC guys while my wife and child went to visit the doctor by themselves. The guys wired up the manual humidistat on the basement furnace first. When they tested the unit, it didn't work properly. It was supposed to turn on the humidifier only when the heat is on, AND when the humidistat was calling for humidity. The test failed on two fronts: 1) The humidifier (whole house fan powered) unit didn't seem to turn on; 2) when the heat temperature was met, the furnace kept going (it wouldn't stop because of the way it was wired); At this point I thought that the solenoid on the humidifier was broken, so I said, to try to hook up the one in the attack next and worry about replacing the bad unit afterwards. Attic humidifier - same problem; no I got the sense that these guys didn't know what they were doing or they just gave me defective units. As they were about to troubleshoot and re-wire the units, my wife called - "car won't start, please come pick us up at the doctor's office...." So, I was going to let the HVAC guys stay home by themselves, I told them if they couldn't fix this within the next 10 minutes, they would have to come back. Of course, they couldn't fix it. They left and promised to come back. I left to pick up the wife and child. After months of trying to get them to come back, it was now the end of January 2014!!! Bill gave me all the excuses in the book and told me how he was busy or his guy was on vacation or sick, or whatever. They were just useless. I decided to buy a new unit myself and read up on how to properly wire the system (google is cool). Guess what - I should have done that myself from the beginning. Now that I know how to hook it up myself, and its been working for a couple of weeks so far, I decided to give Mr. G's Heating and Air Conditioning the worst rating so that other people are fairly warned about how they treat their paying customers.
Description of Work: Mr G was the HVAC contractor hired by a builder to install two sets of HVAC units (furnance, AC, filter and humidifier) for my house.
