ffHe measured our space carefully, spent quite a bit of time with us evaluating other possibilities in our family room and concluded that we would be better off going in another direction than his custom carpentry skills.  We really appreciated his honesty and would definitely use him in the future.

He did some tile work this time, and previously did an entire bathroom.  He is incredibly meticulous, he does beautiful work, and his prices are fair.  We think he's terrific.  We'd have him here all the time if we could afford it.  I give them the highest ratings and will use him again in the future.

It was not a quick project and he made it as pleasant as possible for us.  He covered things up, moved things around and he wasn't bothered by anything.  I changed my mind about things and he said I want you to be happy with it.  If he doesn't have an expertise in something he will say he doesn't do it.  He doesn't do plumbing, he's a carpenter, a tile person, installs doors, windows, framing and that kind of stuff.  He doesn't take on whole homes, he has himself and a helper so that tells you the size of what he does.  He's probably one of the best craftsmen for detailed work that I've ever seen.  He has a huge amount of pride in everything he does so you will have his best job every time.  I would recommend you use him.  He's not an old guy so he'll be doing this for a while so you're lucky if you get him.  He works for designers and does high level things and then things for me.  We will have him back as soon as we think of something else to do.   It's important to have someone you get along with, wants to please you and helps the job come out the way you want it.  He also offers suggestions.  We worked together off and on for 5-6 months.  We started out working on a vanity upstairs and we were so impressed that we kept asking him to do more jobs.  Each time he would give me an idea of what the project would cost.  I'd tell him what I wanted to do and he'd say it would be this much, this is what it will take in terms of time, etc so there was no shock.  He did a room at a time other wise we would have had to move out.  He put new molding around the baseboards and each room looked spectacular.  It's not high level carpentry, he ripped up the rugs, took away the debris and no extra charges for anything.  I'm relatively sure things went better sometimes and worse sometimes but he wasn't saying something was harder and he'd have to charge more.  He does exceptional work.  I think he was lucky to get him, he's in demand.  He told me he was available in 2 weeks so we did tons of work with him because he was free.  I found a great deal on flooring and I told him about it so he was fine with going over and picking it up.  He's looking for his income to come off the quality of work he does, not from materials.  Some contractors are not open to you buying something and having them put it in.  I bought it and he and his helper followed me over and picked it up and we did that with everything.  We tore down all the walls, he reinforced things he didn't like and I got permits.  The down side is who knows whether the wall is insulated properly, the fire stops were done properly and all the things you as a home owner would want to know was done properly.  I will use him in the future.
