"I am sorry that our business model is not for you. Mr. Handyman is a time and materials model because we believe that is the fairest way to bill both for the customer and the contractor. (For example if we were to give a fixed price based on a job that we expect to take 4 hours and the job only takes 3 hours we feel it would be unfair to bill a customer the fixed amount and vice versa.) "Thank you for discussing this with us by phone. We apologize that our office did not respond. We (and many others in our industry), have been trying to do our best through some truly unusual circumstances. Our business has seasonal variations with spring and summer our busiest time of year. This year due to COVID restrictions in March-May more inquiries came in June and July than normal and we were also a bit shorthanded post shutdowns. This made it difficult to meet our usual standards in response and unfortunately some things fell through the cracks. We have added another person in the office. That is no excuse for not responding but please know that we have multiple people answering the phone, a live answer call center to back us up at off hours, and we are available by text and by email. As we discussed perhaps you could have reached out to us before submitting a negative review online (which hurts our business even though we did not perform any work for you). As a small local business whose customer satisfaction ranks in the top ten of over 150 Mr. Handyman offices nationally we care very much about our customers. We review every bit of customer feedback as a team and we do our best to learn and improve when we drop the ball. We will try to do better."
