Black Bear came back to redo the driveway after our initial complaint. Both times they left big chunks of tar on the lawn. The job again was done very poorly, so we had to redo the job ourselves..

My wife and I solicited bids from 5 professional contractors to perform a large-scale renovation of our house.   Matt Bonacci (the owner of Black Bear Builders) eventually won the bid.  We couldn't have been more pleased.   Matt was extremely well organized and executed the entire job on time and on budget.    Moreover, his team was very talented professional and we were very comfortable with them around our family (3 children).    Everything unfolded as detailed in the proposal and the final product was absolutely beautiful.  Whenever we did have concerns or issues, Matt was promptly available to discuss and reconcile.  We were very pleased and would highly recommend Matt and use him for other project in our home.

We recently purchased a house where a load-bearing wall was creating a closed-off feeling between the kitchen, dining, and living rooms.  Additionally this wall was full of HVAC ducts, plumbing, and electrical, so we knew had quite a project on our hands.
We interviewed several contractors for this job, both on and off Angie's List.  Black Bear Builders shone through as the right choice.  From the very beginning, Matt Bonacci's professionalism was apparent.  He was punctual, courteous, and always patient.  Matt was able to visualize the finished product and devised a solution to meet our needs; he then created and printed a mock-up to help us visualize his idea and get us all on the same page.  The quote was detailed and contained all the items we discussed.  The price was highly competitive for this area.
Matt made sure that we met all of the relevant team members before we agreed to the job; this was definitely a deciding factor in selecting Black Bear Builders.  The general contractor especially -- Fred -- is a tremendous asset to Matt's team.
All of the work was performed as discussed.  Matt and Fred were very accommodating to our requests, e.g. putting down padded floor covering to protect our newly refinished wood floors, and setting up dust containment system while sanding the drywall.  After Fred finished the trim / molding on the new pass-throughs, it looked so amazing that we requested the same treatment to another existing doorway.  Matt responded quickly with a quote for the additional work and completed it quickly.
Overall the process was very smooth, from beginning to end, and I will not hesitate to recommend Black Bear Builders in the future.  This project could have been very stressful; Matt and his team ensured that it was stress-free.

I was given a start date and every week given a schedule as to what would be completed that week and where their goal was for completation, and they finished  ahead of schedule, again with minimal dust, very clean operation.  when I returned home at night it amazed me to see how neat the work area was left, this took alot of stress off of me because it is clear they respect the home they are working in.

The level of customer service was exceeded only by the expertise of the craftsmen involved in the project.

Mr. Bonacci did everything he said he was going to do when he said it was going to be done with the highest of quality and in todays world I've found this asset non existant with most contractors, EXCEPT BLACK BEAR AND MR BONACCI
